We had a great stay, ideal location and set up for touring south west Ireland.
Pros:

Great central location for exploring the south west of Ireland. Easy access to a good road network to get where you are going. Excellent pool. Staff were very helpful when we woke up to a puncture from our previous days travel. We plan to return next year to use it as a base for a longer stay.

Great location. Tired accommodation, in desperate need of modernisation.
Pros:

Great location, and very spacious apartment, in a lovely garden area of the hotel.

Lockable bedroom doors and lockable main apartment door, so very secure.

Staff friendly and welcoming.

Cons:

Apartment was very old-fashioned, and desperately needs updating and decorating.

It smelt very ‘fusty’ upon arrival, and throughout our stay. I don’t think it had been in use for a while.

It was very dark and the light bulbs were not bright enough to light the rooms in the day (it was dark even in the daytime), and at night.

It wasn’t very clean and there was thick dust on the skirting boards.

It was also an adapted apartment for a disabled family. However, we did not need this, nor did we request it.

There was a kettle and a microwave on a shelf in the lounge area, but no sink, and so we had to fill up the kettle in one of the bedroom sinks! There was also no plug socket next to the kettle on the shelf, and so we had to boil the kettle on the floor at a plug socket low down.

For the price per night, it should at least include breakfast, but it was extra.

There was a wedding on the Saturday and so the hotel was busy for breakfast Sunday morning and we couldn’t get a table, as there was none available. We had to find breakfast elsewhere, but didn’t manage to find a full Irish, which was what we wanted.

Staff make the hotel
Pros:

Staff were absolutely amazing

Cons:

Lift took about 3 minutes to go up one floor, then stairs to next door with a baby and pram etc and luggage. Nobody offered help! Or told us the situation.

The beautiful Castleconnel, Limerick.
Pros:

The location is nice, set back from the river Shannon.
This 18th century building is beautiful.
Staff were excellent; shout out to Josephine. She welcomed us, served us in the bar & at dinner, giving recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect.

Cons:

Our room (107) was cold; adjusting the thermostat made no difference. The ensuite bathroom had a window that couldn't close, a piping hot radiator and external noise.
