The Lister Gate Studios

The property itself was very clean, which was a real positive and much appreciated. However, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable ; it felt like the springs were gone on both sides, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.
It was also a shame that the hallway had a very strong, unpleasant smell, and there was a bin bag left there for the duration of our two-night stay.
I felt comfortable during the stay as I was with a friend, but I don’t think I would have felt as comfortable staying there on my own.

Unacceptable communication. Both in terms of ability to get hold of anyone and in terms of rudeness / lack of customer service. Completely useless AI type phone feature that just loops around. When I did manage to speak to someone she was curt / rude and unapologetic when issues regarding lack of hot water were raised.

Unacceptable smell caused by bin waste being stored inside the building - nauseating levels of odour which nearly made be vomit every time I had to walk through the communal areas. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Foul and unhygienic.

No hot water via the kitchen sink available. I had to boil the kettle to wash up the dishes.

No information provided regarding parking and no one answering calls when I called in advance to seek this option.

Room was miles away within the complex, many stairs, lots of heavy luggage, no elevator, little to no customer support, (stranded outside the door for hours) then sent the wrong instructions, then got sent the wrong instructions again, then again, then again,,finally figured it out got myself anyway, inside? nowhere to hang clothes, no working tv, very cramped space, one towel for 2 people, just, nobody cares at this place.
Undoubtedly the most over priced, tiny spaced and under provided studio apartment I’ve rented in years. I hope I never have to stay there again.

Very basic with minimal/absent ameneties (no coat hangers, no beside table, no hairdryer, nowhere to hang towels) and aweful automated customer support. If you are staying for more than a night, I would recommend paying slightly more for somewhere else (if you don't mind sharing, the city's hostel would be better). Also, none of the issues (no TV access, no hot water in sink, no bowls nor spoons) that I raised upon arriving were solved. By the way, no freezer compartment and good luck trying to cook anything on the teflon-peeled pans.

Spartan furnishings, eg, one chair, no bedside table, no bedside light, no hooks to hang coats.
TV did not work.
The stairs to climb to our studio were horrible.

The bed was very uncomfortable, rolled into middle, felt every spring, no support, we both slept badly and came away with many aches and pains. It felt like it was an old used one. With an improved mattress, this place would be tip top.
Would also have benefited from a complimentary small shower gel as we had forgotten ours!

I can’t begin to explain the awful experience we had at this accommodation. The shower was run for no longer than 20 seconds to see if the hot water was working (of which it wasn’t to then find the shower was leaking, fully flooded underneath the floors. Called the emergency number multiple times to get no answer, called other number provided to get hung up on and blocked. A message eventually got back to us basically saying “sorry we will get someone out” to then never get anyone there. We physically couldn’t use the water, we had spoken to one of the residents who’s paying thousands for somewhere that have only recently got water back. Bins were in the building so all you could smell was rubbish pink/red stains all over the floor- AND I HAVEN’T EVEN GOT MY DEOSIT BACK… of which they said would be sent back immediately after check out. It was dirty, they clearly didn’t even hoover. They won’t get back to me in regard to ANYTHING, so I have taken matters further to get my money back. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS STUDIO.

AVOID!! I don’t usually leave reviews but I wanted to warn people about Room 4, Lister Gate, Nottingham I stayed here last week and the room was so dirty which I was shocked at considering they also take a £100 deposit, I tried contacting numerous people about this and nobody got back to me and I’m still waiting 6 days later and they also still have my deposit, I’ve provided photo evidence of this disgusting place!

There was no floor mat at the bathroom

1. The room had no water on the 2nd day of my stay
2. The door to get in/out of the building was stuck and I couldn't leave causing me to miss my appointment.
3. The shower is small, and the sink is genuinely comically tiny.
4. They said on the listing that there was a washing machine facility in the kitchen. There was none, and I called you guys to tell me if it was there and the representative said it was a mistake on the website. This was detrimental as I planned on using that washing machine.
5. The pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable.

Everything especially noise while sleeping. TV not working, no communication with the property owner and safety in general inside the property was a challenge to me. You call the owner and the owner will promise this and that and never happen.
