Zeer matig hotel, maar daar is de prijs ook naar.
Pros:

Locatie was prima om de volgende ochtend naar de haven te gaan voor Maratua. Het bed sliep redelijk.

Cons:

De kamer, beddengoed en handdoeken roken heel erg muf. In de nacht was er een stortbui en kwam het water op twee plekken door gaten naar beneden in de kamer waardoor het bed nat werd. Faciliteiten waren ook zeer minimaal. In de wasbak en douche lagen lange zwarte haren die niet van ons waren.

Cons:

The linen did not look clean or fresh! There is no hairdryer. The rooms are small. The staff not keen to be super helpful. Second time of staying here, two days apart and I had hoped the second experience was going to be better sadly not!

Affordable and good for one night before going and leaving from Berau for the islands.

Cons:

There must have been some sewer problem and there was a very bad smell all through the resort and bathrooms.

Clean, functional and modern rooms, staffed by a team of fantastic hotel staff.
Pros:

I stayed here twice separately as part of a stop over. This modern hotel is close to the airport (~15mins car). The hotel has multiple levels. The rooms are clean internet WIFI enabled, air conditioned and modern. The bathroom is modern, spacious and clean. There is also a good size working desk/chair inside both rooms I had (on separate occasions) in case Berau town inspires your productivity. The hotel is managed by the friendly Christian, who is fluent in English, professional and helpful. The rest of the hotel staff team are also very friendly and incredibly helpful. There is a restaurant/indomart within walking distance although it's just as easy to order food delivery via GoJek which I did. I recommend this hotel for your stay in Berau.

Noisiest no value for money hotel of Kalimantan
Pros:

Clean room and nice bed, but that's it sorry to day

Cons:

Linnen in very poor state, boiler didn't work, tv didn't work, building under construction with constant drilling and hammering, extremely loud mosque next door, no fridge, no facilities. No value for money, any Indonesian homestay is better

Pros:

Room for the money is alright, nothing special but for the price you should not expect anything special. Staff was nice helping us with the ferry.

Cons:

It was rather unclean. When you walked barefoot the feed got super dirty and there was hair here and there in the bathroom and room. Worst, however, was that the bed sheets looked worn and dirty. For me cleanliness is the most important for an accommodation so that was a big minus. If it would be clean the hotel would be good value for money.
