Don't stay there
Pros:

Nothing apart from it had a bed

Cons:

It was a dirty house with no carpets no facilities for tea or coffee no host to greet you only another guest and looked nothing like the pictures or description on the add

Quirky flat at South ferrybridge
Pros:

Quirky house, spacious bedroom, comfortable bed, warm, shared shower room and kitchen.
Owner was away and had a house sitter in residence to look after us and the grey parrot and the cat. Christina was really welcoming and helpful, the parrot was initially allowed out of its cage , which was a bit of a problem , as it was disturbed by our presence and probably missing his owner. However once the parrot was in his cage , it was a lovely place to stay and the parrot also seemed happier and calmer.

Cons:

Just as described above, I guess it's not a place to stay if you don't like animals! But it is comfortable and relaxed if you are ok with that. There are 2 rooms to rent , but only one in use when we were there , so only 3 of us sharing the bathroom

Close to airport and lovely host, what more can you ask for.
Pros:

Excellent location near bars and restaurants as well as only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. The host Ann is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed meeting Maisie the African grey parrot.

Dissapointing , I even looked for alternative accommodation whilst there.
Pros:

Very old property , steep steps to negotiate, the bathroom was shared and busy .

Cons:

Bed was uncomfortable, the wooden floor boards creeked terribly , a noisy parrot . The house us very run down.

I didn’t enjoy it at all, not what I expected

I didn’t realise we would be staying with the family it wasn’t clear that the host lives there with her child. It was not clear we would be sharing toilet facilities with the family, I felt I had to keep the tv low incase we woke them up, no locks on the doors, tried to put us in the kids room before moving us to the adult room which was the ones pictured in the advert however the bed wasn’t comfortable and the bed spread looked old and felt uncomfortable sleeping in it.

Pros:

The location was ideal for the airport.Loved the resident parrot that whistled the Adams family theme tune as you came in.
The host was friendly and brought us a cuppa tea at 5.30am which was appreciated,although we only saw her for a brief period in the morning.The bedroom&bed was nice and clean .

Cons:

Could not get any sleep until 4am(was up at 5am for the airport)as the host was entertaining and it was very noisy.Photos looked like you had your own bathroom but instead it was shared and of course when you wanted to use the bathroom,someone was rattling the door handle,so you felt you couldn't use the shower..Quilt certainly needed replacing,as it was in poor condition.

A disappointing stay.
Pros:

The host was very warm.

Cons:

It was far too noisy. After the kid came home, the family talked so loudly that it was impossible to rest. It was also very far from the airport bus stop. I couldn't get a taxi in the morning, so I had to walk for nearly half an hour.

Anne est une hôte agréable et accueillante qui n'hésite pas à donner des conseils
La chambre est propre et agréable
Bon emplacement pour aller à l'aéroport

Cons:

Malheureusement la maison est mal insonorisée. Nous avions un avion très tôt et devions nous lever à 2h30. Nous avons tenté de nous coucher tôt mais c'était très bruyant jusqu'à plus de minuit... Aucun effort n'a été fait par l'hôte et sa famille pour que l'on puisse être au calme. Pour 120€ la nuit c'est décevant ! Anne n'était pas responsable du fait que nous devions nous lever tôt mais un minimum de calme aurait été apprécié

Nous avons adoré l’accueil chaleureux de Anne malgré l’heure tardive. La maison est vivante, le lit est confortable, la chambre spacieuse.
