Axtons Bass City Lake Front Resort

The place is run down and dirty. The beds were dirty, old and worn out you can tell people have slept in them and they were not washed after. There was a ziplock bag with old rotten chicken wings in it under one of the beds. My son and I showed up there at midnight after a 6 hour drive expecting a nice place to sleep but what we found was horrible. I ended up going and renting a room at a motel because it was too bad to even sleep in there for a few hours. The pictures on booking are not at all what this place looks like. It is a scam DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!

Never could find the guy at the front desk.

The fact that l booked them they were supposed to be pet friendly. They're not and wouldn't refund my money. Don't waste your money. None of the amenities were there. No restaurant. Scam!

Hey,This is your tenant Justice Luke from room twenty eight. While I was here I had to leave my current room, which was Room 28 due to your bathroom. When I first went in there, there was a cracked hole inside of the toilet. I paid it no attention because I figured y'all already knew about it. And y'all were really busy due to the fishing tournament. So I made no complaints, but as the days went on. I found out how bad it was leaking after we used it a couple times and went to take showers. I put my bags down and my clothes got soaked with nasty wastewater. Leading to that I had to make a trip to town and wash all my clothes because it's all I had to.Wear,
You also never notified your tenants. On 10/22/2025 your office was going to be closed. I called multiple times with no answer.So due to that I was unable to talk to someone about my deposit. So indistressed knowing my deposit wasn't secured.

So this morning I got on booking.com and ordered another room witch was supposed to be nicer and lil more expensive then the one I currently am in. And y'all had no problems taking the money right off as soon as I booked it not knowing that it was me and now i'm staying in the same room.That is less than what I paid for and I heard these rooms are supposed to be fifty dollars a night i booked a nicer room than what I'm in now.
..I really like this place and I plan on coming back. I've spent nearly a thousand dollars here at your place.Altogether, and that's including the deposit.And I would really like to get that back today. Due to the fact my current reservation is no longer active. Since today was check out. .No, one let me know anything about being closed. So unaware, I paid for another room and it was supposed to be an upgrade from where I am right now.

I would have left today if I had been notified on how to check out with securing my deposit.

This place was one of the worst place I've ever been to. The rooms was nasty. They never did housekeeping. As the toilets had a hole in it that led to the floor getting soacked as well as my clothes getting soaking wet with nasty wastewater from the toilet. Then I booked another room that was a deluxe room witch was more expensive and they kept me in my same room. Witch They overcharged me with the prices. There was no information about just how bad the area is with full of drug heads. My cousin was walking to the lake fort when a man threaten him and got his dog out.Trying to get his dog to bite him. And another Cajun, we was fishing at the docks.
And my cousin noticed someone standing behind the woods behind a tree. That led me walk to my car, as I walked to my car, the man started walking up to me. When as I started to reach in my car, he ran off.
As well when they was closed, I tried calling email and everything I had no response on how to receive my deposit refund, which is over $200. So that made me do an extra night which I had to pay for when there wasn't even there.. And it was just terrible hospitality.

One of the rooms had several insects, including a large cockroach right at the door as we entered. The towels were so small and thin. There weren't enough towels for the number of people in each room (when they knew the numbers we registered for). The dining room for breakfast did not look inviting. It looked disorganized. The pictures online were much nicer on the site, and a big disappointment once we arrived. Worst, once you book, you can't cancel.

No WiFi

Both beds were completely worn out. There was no maid service at all, and I used one towel over 4 days. I had to go see the manager to get a roll of toilet paper.

Rooms weren’t clean when we got there. 10:30 at night before we could get in the rooms.

Waited 1 and a half hours for the room to be ready, the mattresses sag in the middle very loud neighbors until 3am

Paid prior to checkin. When I arrived nobody told me the water was off until after I paid and was charged a $50 extra (non refundable) per deposit. And when I checked out I asked for a refund since the doc was only over one night. All he could do was shake his head no and pretend he didn't speak English. The water stayed off from 3pm check in until 11pm and I was still charged the total and deposit. Should have refunded for the inconvenience, or explained before I paid. only said 30 more mins whenever I asked

Nothing everything was great

The wifi is pretty spotty but besides that, it is great place stay.
