Clean comfortable big room, nice surroundings, parking
No breakfast
Room size
Water had to be tun fir twenty mins before it was hot.
Few people there snd no staff( could call them by phone. Too empty almost threatening
No food available or drinks
Room not visited in three days.
Visually , it is quite impressive on arrival which as a first impression is a good thing .
Both rooms were large, clean, light and airy, bathrooms had large walk in showers which worked well.
There was water in the rooms and some very interesting biscuits provide alongside the tea/coffee tray .
The gentleman who received us was pleasant and helpful and showed us to our rooms and the lady the following morning greeted us with a cheery “ Good morning “ and a smile .
My understanding is, this hotel has recently reopened.
It is clear that this process is still ongoing as the facilities that are there have yet to become operational . There is no bar or restaurant, the grounds that are very extensive and attractive are , as my son found not available to the guests , he was told he was in an area that was not available to the public , even there there was no signage to this effect, slightly embarrassing !
I think once the reopening process is fully complete it will be a lovely place to stay however until that happens the very least the hotel could do, would be to offer some kind of breakfast , even a delivered to the door , continental version.
I booked two rooms and the servicing of one had not been completed, no milk portions on the tea/ coffee tray and rather more importantly, no toilet roll, a nuisance when you have to find someone at midnight, after retuning late and again, slightly embarrassing !
Cleanliness
Amenities
Requested a late check in...between 20:00-21:00 which was absolutely fine. A staff member came to greet me at the door as I went to the wrong one! Easy check in/check out. Room very clean and even had a fan due to previous hot days. Staff were lovely and helpful. Towels, shower gel shampoo all provided. Highly recommend staying here 5*
We stayed for work purposes and totally suited our requirements. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and will certainly use again.
Pleasant reception person
Booked under the auspices of being a B& B
When we first checked in we were not told that there would be no breakfast! We paid £100 for one night in a lonely hotel with no other guests and no breakfast! No one in reception the next day, only a cleaner.
There was no breakfast at the time, but that was not a problem.
The room was quiet and clean. There is a lot to be seen, many animals, nice views.
It was fine for us, we just stayed for one night.
The room was very comfortable. The owner was extremely welcoming. So was the lovely ostrich in the grounds.
I hope the hotel will soon be able to provide breakfast again. That was the only downside.
Great staff. Friendly welcome. Very clean. Quiet. Good location. Extensive grounds and gardens and the owners exotic pets. Huge comfy bed.
The reception area would benefit from feeling more hotel like. The option of breakfast would be good too.
