Pros:

Double Room with Garden View
I booked a double room with a garden view, and both the size and the view met my expectations. However, the property’s security system was disappointing. I wasn’t informed that no staff remain at the hotel after 5 PM. The pathway to the garden and rooms becomes quite dark after 6 PM, and the main gate is just a regular one that can be opened at any time. This means anyone could enter the property at night. Even with the room door locked, I didn’t feel reassured. When I raised this with the owner, the response was simply that “nothing ever happens,” which I found inadequate.

As a solo traveler, I felt uneasy and kept checking outside at night. I believe the property should improve its security—at minimum, by keeping staff on-site during the night for emergencies. The owner did say I could contact them if needed, but in a real emergency, their absence from the property would be a serious issue.

Additionally, the staff seemed to have very limited knowledge about transport options to Colombo. Most hotels either arrange transfers or at least provide guidance, but here that wasn’t the case.

I had no meals included, so my review focuses solely on the stay’s safety. While nothing happened during my three nights there, the constant concern overshadowed the experience. I would not recommend this property to solo female travelers.

Pros:

Host and Location both are wonderful.

Cons:

Only one thing and that is Bed. They were not at all comfortable to sleep. Bed was too noisy to even change sides while sleeping.

Pros:

Fantastic location, helpful staff and great value for money. Cafe downstairs is very nice.

Cons:

Nothing we didn’t like, but a few suggestions how to make it even better: to use same water bottles for the rooms as in the cafe, so it fits in the fridge. And to add a drying rack to the balcony room, same as downstairs rooms have outside.

Great stay
Pros:

Very welcoming on arrival and gave us a more suitable ground floor room because of our disability without us asking . So helpfully with everything

Cons:

Only one thing, there was not a fridge but certainly not a deal breaker as there was a free ice cold water dispenser 24hrs

Pros:

The rooms were nice and the location is very central

Cons:

There were many ants in the room and they did not change our linen. The staff could be more customer focus. Also the guests could have a discount for breakfast at the cafe

Liebevolles ruhiges Hotel
Pros:

Gute Ausstattung und schönes Bad. Alles war sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Klimaanlage war super. Schönes Café ideal zum Frühstücken. Durch die „Hinterhoflage“ ist es sehr ruhig und in Kombination mit den schönen Pflanzen entsteht eine schöne gelassene Atmosphäre
