Good location short drive from motorway and Chapeltown is an excellent location for train and bus. The staff member serving at breakfast worked really hard and was very pleasant. The beds were comfy and bathroom very nice.
The room could have been cleaner, hair grips left on the side, dirty marks on mirror and window, hair in bath. Facilities poor one bath towel and one toilet roll between 3 of us. No tea spoon, iron or hairdryer only one tea bag. curtains not hung properly just hanging off pole with plastic tags. Carpet on landing looked like it hadn't been hoovered for days.Breakfast not very good, my husband had the full English his beans were cold and eggs under done, I had the continental no choice of cearial just corn flakes, big bowl of fresh fruit but honey on the fruit I'd have preferred fruit without honey but wasn't given a choice.
Huge shame could be lovely but desperately needs TLC
TV had all the mod cons
Not the cleanest. The reception is unmanned and waited 20 mins to find someone.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and well presented, breakfast was tasty and well cooked.
We are regularly stay here when visiting friends
Always clean very spacious room
The location was good and as there were over 13 of us in the area for an event, we were out most of the time.
Nice pub down the road though.
The room was extremely dated. We opened the wardrobe door and it fell off onto the floor.
We had to move the mattress round as you could feel the springs in your backside.
The kettle only worked on one socket and I had to beg for tea bags and coffee.
Get those rooms updated and get some more staff.
Those we saw were working hard and were very pleasant and polite.
The online pictures do not match the interior.
Bloke at the reception was an absolute Nause. Tried to give me and my cousin a different room because he said it was too big. Paid for a Family Room with 2 double beds. Bloke said he’s going to move us to a room with 2 single beds. Had to argue that We are having the room we paid for. Absolutely Wally.
I liked the area nice little village nice view
Wasnt aware it would take 10 minutes to walk to our room through a maze of corridors. Once at the room the lock on the door from the inside didn’t work as it wasn’t aligned properly and we had to force the door shut. The £10 per person ‘all you can eat’ breakfast was just one plate of a ‘full English’ with undercooked eggs that made me ill, tiny mushrooms and ‘toast’ that was more like bread. At no point did I feel like it would be okay or expected for me to ask for more food as it wasn’t a self serve like I expected ‘all you can eat’ to be. Our room was okay but there was a plastic bag over the smoke alarm that had been kept on there with a bobble or elastic band of some sort and the lock on the window to keep it from fully opening wasn’t even attached. Some of the electrics in the room were questionable too due to not stable plug sockets. Also the ‘high speed WiFi’ doesn’t exist there’s WiFi but it’s so bad I got better internet hot spotting my phone to the tv…which would only be watchable with internet as there’s no aerial to give you freeview channels.
Arrived late after work, very unprofessional man came out bare foot to reception to check me in, took a very long time and when I got to my room it had not been cleaned after the previous guest. Towels on the floor, rubbish, bed been slept in.
The room was big, I could open the window a bit for fresh air, the people at the desk were very nice, offered to help with my suitcase when I checked in and when I checked out, at the time of check in, I was offered to change the room in case I don't like the view, even came to assist with my breakfast order. from the outside, it looked impeccable. The bed was very comfortable, clean bed sheets and towels. There was plenty of space in the room and nice vintage furniture
Nothing in the room looked like in the pictures that I have seen at the time of booking; the bathtub and shower area, was dirty, and I needed to clean it myself before using it, even the slide panels from inside had dirt built up: stains at the base of the sink foot, and the wood toilet seat had the paint peeled. The smell was sort of musty on the halls and in the room where I fixed it with my perfume spray. Only one chair at the desk was not enough. for people who would love to sit to study or drink a cup of tea, would have been nice at least an armchair with a tea table. The chef to whom we had to order the breakfast could not understand much in English and run upset swearing and calling help from front desk.
The hotel is tucked away and quiet. It is very near our event
The man that met us was running the bar and the reception.
We were early so went into the bar - he hadn’t got a clue!!!
We ordered tea. We got two cups, two teabags, a jug of milk and a kettle of like warm water. £7 !!!!!
We were given room 4 - having booked a ‘Superior’ room I expected a ‘standard’ to be met.
The bed was two pushed together, the mattress was far too small AND where the mattress didn’t cover was full of crumbs, dust and bits. The window was filthy- greasy hair marks and hand prints!!
I complained! The man said he would send someone up - he came and said it’s ok!! later I went down and found 3 young people - I explained and we were moved to Room 14 which was totally different! Beautifully clean and presented. Comfy bed, good view, clean and quiet.
Restaurant closing at 9 pm on a Saturday night, not a great choice at breakfast, no coffee machine available at breakfast due to it not working, cooked breakfast could have been better
This hotel was scary and I did not feel
Safe so I left and did not stay there
I would like a refund
