Excellent staff, breakfast, shower, bed; but unfortunately the view and noise were disappointing
Pros:

The staff were incredibly nice, and the breakfast was great. The shower was great. Bed was comfortable. Price was nice.

Cons:

Whereas the staff did try to help with my request for a quiet room, unfortunately the noise from the street in between the guesthouse and the river was quite loud at most hours of the day and into the evening. This is the case for most of the guesthouse in town actually. Also the "river view" is only from the balcony, where the street noise is louder of course, and none of the windows had any view at all.

a classy and welcoming venue right at the Namkhan River
Pros:

classy! It was not my first stay in this place, so if I went for a second time, it should mean that I liked it a lot - everything: welcoming staff, clean, big room, good Internet, very central and looking at the banks of River Namkhan.

Nice hotel but horribly uncomfortable

Cons:

The bed, so hard, the pillows were horrible and the bedding was cheap nylon and full of static electricity, I didn’t get much sleep over the 2 nights I was there. Everything else was good. If they invested in some mattresses and some cotton bedding it would be an amazing place to stay. Shower particularly good, lovely little balcony area outside the rooms, nice view. I didn’t have the breakfast because I was so tired from not sleeping but apparently it’s not bad.

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr gut gelegen so das man viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie die Stadt gut zu Fuss erreichen kann

Fine place to stay. Some motorcycle noise before midnight. Bed fairly firm and a bit reactive to your partner's movements.
Duvet a little thick, sheets a bit short.
Run by Vietnamese family, so please don't show them Lao translations in Lao.
Breakfast rather repetitive after a few days, some options not available over several days in a row.
Enough, but not exactly abundant.
Be careful. When arriving and paying in foreign currency. A receipt was provided but not at what currency rate.

Pros:

Only stayed for one night, the staff was very helpful as we arrived late and also arranged transfer to Nong Khiaw for the next morning, good breakfast, clean and spacious rooms.
