Perfect place to stay and explore on a budget
Pros:

Stayed at Hotel Colonial in Playa del Carmen and had a great experience overall. The location is one of the biggest highlights just a short walk to Quinta Avenida and the beach, which made it really convenient to explore, eat, and enjoy the nightlife without needing transportation.

The hotel itself has a charming, traditional feel with clean and comfortable rooms. While it’s not a luxury resort, it offers excellent value for the price. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed, which made the stay even better.

The pool area was a nice bonus and perfect for relaxing after a long day out. Everything was well-maintained, and the atmosphere felt safe and laid-back.

If you’re looking for an affordable, centrally located place with good service and a cozy vibe, I’d definitely recommend Hotel Colonial. Would happily stay here again!

Cons:

Currently (March 2026) there is construction being done to add additional floors. Construction hours are 10am-6pm. Water pressure can be hit and miss depending on the time of day.

Pros:

Das Hotel liegt in der Mitte zwischen den beiden Busbahnhöfen und relativ nah zum öffentlichen Strand neben dem Fähranlager. Die Zimmer sind sauber und die Klimaanlage funktioniert gut.

Cons:

Teilweise hat es im Zimmer etwas modrig gerochen. Allerdings konnte man durch die Fenster in den Gängen und im Zimmer morgens und abends ordentlich Durchzug erzeugen. Außerdem hilft die Klimaanlage.

Hotel con mejor ubicación
Pros:

El hotel es tranquilo y las habitaciones están muy limpias, si se ve el desgaste en el mobiliario de las habitaciones, pero uno esta mas tiempo afuera que adentro, la piscina la mantienen limpia.

Cons:

La piscina estaba hermosa, pero no tenía para tenerla a temperatura ambiente, por lo que siempre estaba helada.
