Rooms are bigger than for similarly priced hotels in the region
Very close to all amenities. 8 minute from the train station to the hotel. Very vibrant place. It is New York so you have to be careful.

It was very close to a Subway station, it had everything we needed for comfort and convenience, it was an excellent location, the staff were super friendly and it was the best value going - and I know that to be true because a couple of months ago we stayed in a different hotel, that was not nearly as nice, not nearly as convenient and far more difficult to navigate to for twice the price.
The sirens going off at night are a problem everywhere in New York City so there's no way that can be fixed but having stayed at another hotel recently as described above this was as quiet and soundproof as you could get and it was much better than the other hotels we've stayed.
Soleah at reception was excellent—professional, friendly and accommodating; even though I arrived early, she arranged an immediate check‑in and provided the room I requested, including the view and a higher floor. The hotel overall appears refreshed, as the room, bathroom, elevators, and laundry facilities all look newly updated and modernized.
The AC is an older system, and the noise level is extremely high—upgrading to newer units should be considered a priority in future renovation plan.
In general it was clean, but the room was very dark; terrible A/C with many sounds and wind blowing bed direction, too many blinking lights all night long.
Poor amenities, no glasses, blinking lights , terrible A/C, homelesss and drug addicted people just nearby hotel.

I think there was an addiction rehab next to the property. At times there were people that looked high hanging out on the block between the hotel property and 8th Ave. On Saturday there was a lot of trash all over the sidewalk in front of the addiction center all day. I realize this may not be totally in your control but it is not a good look.
Loved the lay out. Only 4 rooms per floor.
