They cancelled when i arrived at 21.45. No help to find alternative accommodation. No advance warning.
First the good; beds were comfortable, the staff was accommodating, and the rooms were clean. Great value for the price.
Second the bad; the first room was on the interior of the building and had now windows so it was stuffy and hot. The room was close to multiple fire doors so I was woken multiple times during the night because the doors would slam. The room had no air conditioning and only had a fan to try and move the air around. The shower mix valve did not operate properly so you either had really hot water or really cold water to shower with.
The staff moved me to a different room for the second night and it was top notch. Everything worked properly and it had a window to get the room cooled down.
First the good. The staff were helpful and listened and moved me to a different room for my second day/night and the second room had no issues. Both rooms were clean and had a comfortable bed.
Now the bad. The first room was extremely warm and had no window to get fresh air. The first room shower mixing valve did not work properly - it was either very hot or very cold. The first room had multiple fire doors just outside the room and they were slamming all night with people entering and leaving. The door issue could be made right by installing soft close mechanisms and the shower could be repaired by replacing the mixing valve so I don't understand why this hasn’t been addressed because I’m sure that I am not the first to experience those issues.
Staff welcoming is below average.
No drinking water provided.
No separation between wet area and dry area.
Positive part as below:
Rooms are clean, toiletries were provided. 10 minutes walk for food shops.
In 5 minutes walk you can find Morrison.
Misleading description. Dishonest and inaccurate designations. As far from deluxe as humanly possible. Only saving grace was comprehensive tv channels and media platforms. Get real and be upfront about what you really offer and the target clientele you can accommodate and cater to
I was quite surprised after reading some of the reviews but it served the purpose of an overnight stay. It was clean and spacious with everything you need for a few hours sleep. There was a strange smell in the room which I later attributed to stale smoke, which cannot be blamed on the hotel but rather the clientele this hotel attracts, if the reviews are correct. The area did not feel the safest, although there was nothing untoward that happened during my stay. Aside from some random person singing in an adjoining room, my misgivings were unfounded. For £53 a night it was great value for arriving at 8pm and leaving at 5.30am- would I stay again? Not sure!
Bed base/mattress saggy in the middle
No loo brush to clean the toilet!!!
Reception staff were very polite and helpful
Room was okay, comfortable as clean, on second floor (Road side), lift not working so it is fortunate that we are fairly healthy 70 year olds.
On arrival there were no available parking spaces in the car park (it was a fairly late arrival), but plenty of free and safe street parking.
Post Code on sat nav take you to a cul-de-sac residential area, about three minutes from the hotel - hotel is first building as you turn off the main road, not well signposted - had we arrived earlier in the evening we might have seen it.
Breakfast was disappointing for the cost, second morning we went to have breakfast in Paisley (better and cheaper).
Not near anything, room was 2nd floor, massive road noise, radiator turned on and off during the night with the sound of an airlock, unable to turn radiator off!
NOT GOOD!
Nice stay
The facilities were decent, but no working lift for heavy cases, which was a pity. Overall good facility.
A very warm welcome from the lads at check in. Very friendly and helpful. Please pass on my thanks
