The view on the beach

We booked this stay specifically because the room was advertised with air conditioning, which was essential during a very hot weekend. Unfortunately, the aircon in our room did not work. We reported it immediately, but despite several technicians attempting repairs throughout the day, it was never fixed. We were moved to another room 8h after we reported it first where the air conditioning also did not work, which the receptionist confirmed. After spending hours waiting without a solution, we had to book alternative accommodation for the remaining nights. Offering us another room adter that fidnt change anything. The hotel only offered credit for a future stay instead of a refund, which was very disappointing.

Overall, for our first time in Mozambique we had a lovely stay and would love to return to Ponta Mar again
Pros:

Ponta Mar is a wonderfully situated resort in Mozambique. It is close to famous restaurants and bars. Easy beach access and lovely views from our room was a huge bonus. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We asked for the two single beds in our unit to be switched to a second double bed and they had no problem with our request. The unit was cleaned properly on a daily basis and we got fresh towels. The pool is clean and we enjoyed swimming every day.

Cons:

My complaints are very minor and did not influence our stay at all. We just really missed a decent kitchen sink in our unit or on the property as it is not very pleasant to rinse dishes in a bathroom. If you are more than two people, it is advisable to bring your own cutlery and plates since the minimum is provided.

The resort restaurant’s food is amazing but we did notice that a lot of the menu items were not in stock. Our visit was out of season so I am not sure if they only cater for peak seasons.

Beautiful sunrise - good energy
Pros:

Watched the sunset just in front of my room. Very beautiful place.

Cons:

The wifi was not strong. They said only in the restaurant so calling and updating people back home didn't work for my brother i had to hotspot him the whole time.
