Hikers Hut Hišar

Everything was perfect. The room was clean and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful with tips for hiking in the local area. I would definitely come back. The location is very beautiful.

We stayed 2 nights while Hiking Juliana Trail. They communicated well with us before arrival. House is in Trtnik, couple of km beyond Podbrdo and up v steep hill. More of a family home than a hostel. We were greeted with beers, dinner was arranged, and we had a pleasant evening being entertained by the family. Next morning we did the stage to Grahovo and returned by train to stay a second night. Maia and Mateoz and their boys were really helpful and interesting to meet.

We got a very delicious breakfast from the hosts! The highlight was a freshly and handmade baked bred.
The host also showed us many biking tracks and possible routes.

Incredibly nice people! The hospitality was top notch! I felt very welcome and relaxed. The place is humble, but I cannot put a finger on anything. The food was amazing too haha.. The homemade bread for breakfast was super! Especially with butter and local honey

Everything was really so nice. The owner family is so friendly, i could even eat dinner and breakfast with them for a small fee. They gave me a some advices for my further hiking trip which was so helpful. The bed was very comfortable too.

Everything was perfect, owners were so kind and helpful and their kids are very playful. The hut is in quite place, with beautiful views, and it contains everything you need. As there is limited parking space in village, please respect the owner's recommendation to park below at the train station and walk to the hut - the hike is steep and short, but you are awarded with beautiful views in the middle (peak Porezen, village Podbrdo, ...), and if you're thirsty after the hike, there's probably a beer waiting for you in the fridge! :)

Increadible hosts, make the stay feel like you are home

This place is lovely and has a very welcoming atmosphere thanks to its hosts. Matevž and Maja were communicative, very nice and helpful and the dog was extraordinarily friendly too. Everything was clean and the room was cozy and comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains from the balcony. The stay there was beyond great, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in this area.

The place, the hospitality, the vibe. The owner were very kind and gentle. They provided useful information about the activities to do around the place. This made our stay at the Hikers Hut very pleasant and satisfying. Very recommended if you like nature, tranquility, and mountains.

We had a lovely stay at the hikers hut as 2 backpackers. Maia and Matevz made us feel at home at their place. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and it was a nice quiet stay away from the city. The rooms were very clean and the shared kitchen was very nice to cook.

We had a great time at Hikers!. Maja and Mateusz were really welcoming and all around great hosts that made our stay very enjoyable. They provided all the information we needed and went above and beyond to make our experience better. Everything was clean and orderly at the time of check in and check out time was flexible within reason.

It's hard not to fall in love with Maia and Matevz. Really! They host hikers from around the world in their lovely little home in a small, peaceful village with a beautiful view and natural surrounding. They open their house for people with an open heart and a smile and a true welcome.

They are so welcoming, generous and caring and nurture everything and everyone. They make everyone feel comfortable and at home. They truly connect with each guest and tend to their needs and create a friendly environment for everyone.

I felt at home and among friends right from the start and I cherish this experience and connection that was made. It was the best experience I had as a guest in Slovenia, and the other guests I met there felt the same. It was very interesting to talk with the other guests and connect.

They live simple, happy and full life with two small lively kids, a sweet dog and a vegetable garden. It was wonderful to join them for a day and would've been better for two.

For people who love nature, mountains, peace, simplicity, good people, and real human connections, I sincerely recommend this experience of being a guest there. I feel lucky I had the chance, and I hope I'll visit them again.

Ah, and the bed was very comfortable, and I enjoyed my room and the full moon over the mountains at night 🙂✨️
