Great!
Pros:

Great location. Really characterful property, with roaring log fires and flag stone floors; the bar had an amazing selection of whiskeys and the restaurant had a very good menu.

Cons:

The hotel is dog friendly but for those of us without dogs it would be good in the eating spaces to have areas where dogs weren’t allowed(especially in the breakfast area).

Warm and welcoming,
Pros:

Everything, the staff were exceptional beds comfy rooms were lovely, everything worked that should have, food was delicious overall a great stay and would highly recommended.

Cons:

Absolutely nothing. Could not be bettered.

Enjoyable stay
Pros:

We received a warm welcome from the reception staff and unexpectedly received a free upgrade from a standard double to a merchant room which had a stunning 4 poster bed and jacuzzi bath.
We had lunch, dinner and drinks in the restaurant which were all fab. A whiskey sour wasn't on the cocktail menu but they happily made one.
The live singer was great.
We particularly liked the presence of the owner, he was very friendly and took time to speak to guests and customers.

Cons:

The mattress and pillows were too soft for my liking but that is just personal preference.

Everything! Wonderful staff who can’t do enough for you, beautiful suite with lovely bathroom & spa bath, excellent dinner in the restaurant and forget dog friendly - The George is *the* dog friendliest :)

Quality and comfort in traditional surroundings
Pros:

Lovely cosy hotel with lots of historic charm and friendly staff. Good choice and quality at breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely too - lots of local seafood and meat choices. If you like whisky you'll have 100s to choose from in their collection! Situated right in centre of inveraray with short walk to harbour and lovely walks near the castle.

Cons:

Eating out tends to be expensive in the region generally but this helps businesses like this survive seasonal peaks and troughs.
