On the whole we enjoyed our stay. Points have been made above to assist not complain.
Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Pheasant. The breakfasts were excellent and the rooms comfortable with quite a few facilities. Good parking facilities.

Cons:

There were a few little things needed to be considered in order for the Pub to be frequented successfully. Unfortunately the Famous Grouse Whiskey was no longer available and for a Pub surely the stock of alcohol should be replenished. The food was good Pub food but again one or two items were off the menu. The staircase did not have banisters and my wife found it somewhat difficult to get up and down with nothing to hold on to.

Mother’s Day Night away with dinner (spoiled)
Pros:

Location, parking, charming beamed pub and restaurant. Reasonable rates, staff helpful but chaotic atmosphere, warm comfy rooms.

Cons:

Mother’s Day roasts as advertised Beef, Pork, Lamb Shank and veggy option but beef and pork sold out by 6.15 pm and choice of pies offered. No walk ins all diners booked so how do you run out of meat on a roast only menu!! Also no cauliflower cheese- run out and had to ask for pigs in blankets and roast potatoes as not on plate. At breakfast no sausages available - only a few guests staying so why couldn’t sausages be bought to cover breakfast? This was second day at breakfast without sausages apparently.
We had booked our room about 3/4 weeks in advance and a table for dinner. On check in, if they knew they were busy and running out of meats, why didn’t they ask us what we would like and reserve for us. Other diners said the same and also mentioned Saturday evening dinner had been chaotic too.

My daughter had one glass of red wine but then told it had run out - on Mother’s Day? Did not seem to be prepared for a busy day.

In bedroom the shower head did not stay up so had to hold it or have it pointing at your feet. Could be a lovely pub b and b great building and helpful but chaotic staff needs a few tweaks to be very good.
