Disappointing stay this time
Pros:

I stay at Horts often when visiting my folks north of Bristol. I like the fuss-free ease of booking and checking in and out. The building is higgledy piggledy, but the rooms are quaint and sufficient.

Cons:

The layout has changed. Guests checking in must now walk from the front entrance THROUGH THE PUB with their luggage to the reception, which is now no longer located near the door. This is a poor change. I was also allocated a disabled room, which was spacious, but there were panic strings everywhere, the bed was low and the bathroom was one large open space suitable for wheelchair users ... but flooded after showering (for which my one hand towel, one bathmat and one shower towel were insufficient) and the basin was set far too low for someone standing. Poor show by Horts that will make me rethink my future stays. (PS: I checked in 7pm and was leaving at 10am the following day so didn't say anything, but the receptionist didn't warn me of the room nor did she offer an alternative room).

Cons:

Strict 3pm checking,don't turn up a bit early expecting to check in.I think they want you to sit in the bar and spend money waiting.This place is all about value adding.

Convenient for centre of town!
Pros:

Convenient for town & theatre - this was why it was chosen! Room was beautiful & little extras made a difference!

Pros:

Super friendly stuff; very clean and comfortable; totally quiet even though above a pub, and very dark - slept super well! Helpful staff when I had to call as I left some thing behind.

Hort's Townhouse you raised the bar.
Pros:

Really pleased with our stay in this fashionable boutique hotel from start to finish. The hotel is well located with easy access to lots of places of interest from historic buildings to markets , shopping ,street food etc. There is no parking so I used NCP carpark which is 5 minutes walk. It cost £28 for 24 hour stay. I was in town with my adult grandson to see at a band at the Prospect Building, this was around a 20 minute, pleasant stroll along the river bank. I am well used to booking hotels online and on arrival the room is not quite up to the photos. This time was different. We were booked into room 7 and we were both surprised at the size of the room when the door opened. The room ,in my opinion, is very well decorated in a 1920/30s style with associated object d'art. The wet room is the size of some bedrooms I have stayed in ,and again very tasteful in keeping with the theme. There was a little welcome note with some port and homemade biscuits. This is such a nice, thoughtful and personal touch that made us feel more than just guests. We had breakfast the following morning in the bar. I had the Vienna French toast and my grandson had the full veggie breakfast. Both were very enjoyable with no complaints from either of us. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Having seen our photos, my wife is insisting I bring her here for our next trip as she feels I have raised the bar now.

Cons:

There was nothing we didn't like but I will just mention for others potentially that room 7 doesn't have a view and the sash windows are covered in a patterned privacy screen. This did not affect our stay but others might prefer a room with a view to the street.

Very disappointing
Cons:

The room we were allocated smelt of cigarettes and we had to be moved to an accessible room which didnt have a bath - something we specifically wanted.
I thought the accommodation would be more boutique but it is run down and needs some decoration in places

The Manager was dealing with a new booking on the phone and left us standing for 10 minutes without acknowledging us - we felt like an inconvenience.

The bar was more like a Wetherspoons than a cosy pub/bar.

Pros:

В целом, всё было ок. Только есть пара нюансов. Я брала номер на одного без окна (первый раз в жизни). Не думаю, что я готова к такому снова, всё же хочется видеть свет, но это сугубо индивидуально. И есть ещё момент. Получается, что гостиница находится над пабом и гостей закрывают на ключ до 7 утра. У меня был ранний поезд, я в 6.58 была у двери, стучала, чтобы мне открыли дверь, и, к моему счастью, шёл сотрудник с ключами. Вот такая вот особенность) Делается в целях безопасности. В округе, к сожалению, не очень безопасно, но у меня была всего одна ночь, поэтому ок. А так, номер был достаточно приятный, чистый, тихий.

Hotel bem charmoso e gostoso
Pros:

Quarto grande e silencioso, a entrada do hotel é por um bar, bem charmoso e todos foram muito atenciosas conosco. Inclusive o gerente nos ofereceu o último café da manhã de graça, pois reclamamos do chuveiro, mas eles não tiveram tempo de arrumar, então como pedido de desculpas nós deram o café da manhã

Cons:

Do chuveiro é que na mesma rua do hotel tem um museo da Palestina. Não que isso interfira no hotel, mas me incomodou.

I would recommend this hotel and would stay again. Unless their pricing for F & B reduced though, I still wouldn’t e
Pros:

It was ideally located and the rooms were a generous size. Bed was comfortable and toiletries provided were good quality.

Cons:

I found the bar and restaurant to be overpriced. I also couldn’t get Netflix on my TV - it came up as unavailable. When I mentioned this to the reception team at check out, they assured me the rooms had smart TV’s and had I called down, they would have investigated.
