This is a clean accommodation and well located for walks in the rainforest. The hosts are Prabath and his wife who are welcoming, generous and helpful who want to make your experience in the rainforest an authentic and enjoyable. We enjoyed the food and hospitality offered by his wife. The guided walks with Prabath were informative and very reasonably priced compared with other guides from other properties. He was good company and knew what he was doing, pointing out wildlife of interest to us along the walk and taking us to some great waterfalls, off the beaten track, close to his home. We really enjoyed our stay which gave us the real feel of the rainforest

Wij hebben hier een heerlijk verblijf gehad. De kamer is zeer ruim en beschikt over een aparte, prachtige badkamer.

De host, Prabath, is een ontzettend vrolijke en gastvrije gastheer die er alles aan doet om het je naar de zin te maken. Samen met zijn vrouw bereidt hij de allerlekkerste maaltijden. Ook leerde hij ons op een leuke manier hoe je Sri Lankaans eten op de juiste manier eet.

Daarnaast is Prabath een fantastische gids in het regenwoud. Wij hebben bij hem de watervallentour geboekt, die je langs meerdere prachtige watervallen brengt. Bij de laatste waterval kun je zwemmen en genieten van een heerlijke lunch.

Tijdens het gidsen neemt Prabath alle tijd. Waar andere gidsen soms snel doorlopen, staat hij juist stil bij de kleinste details. Dankzij zijn scherpe oog hebben wij verschillende slangen, hagedissen, apen en prachtige vogelsoorten gezien die wij zelf nooit hadden opgemerkt.

Prabath spreekt goed Engels en is een echte expert in het spotten van dieren. Hij maakte bovendien schitterende foto’s met onze eigen telefoons en legde ons geduldig uit hoe wij zelf ook zulke mooie foto’s kunnen maken. Hij gebruikt functies waarvan wij niet eens wisten dat ze bestonden!

Wij komen bij een volgend bezoek aan Sri Lanka zeker terug en zullen dan zonder twijfel een van zijn andere tours boeken. Wij hadden ons geen betere gids én geen beter verblijf kunnen wensen!

お部屋は写真で見る以上に美しく、とても清潔で、到着した瞬間から心地よく過ごすことができました。オーナーのパラバスさんと奥様、そして彼らの子供たちはとてもフレンドリーで、滞在中いつも温かく気にかけてくださり、まるで家族のように迎えていただきました。

こちらでは、世界遺産のシンハラジャ森林保護区へのツアーも開催されています。パラバスさんは森や生き物についてとても詳しく、楽しくお話ししながらゆっくり案内してくれます。おかげで私たちはたくさんの貴重な生き物に出会うことができ、忘れられない体験になりました！ぜひここでのツアーを楽しんでください！

そして何より、朝食の時間が本当に贅沢です。鳥の声と美しい景色を眺めながらいただく朝食は格別で、最高の1日をスタートできます。

デニヤヤでの滞在を特別な思い出にしてくれる、心からおすすめしたいお宿です。また皆さんに会いに訪れる日を、今から楽しみにしています！

Het huisje was mooi en schoon en de locatie was schitterend. Vanaf het terras kijk je over de rijstvelden heen naar de bergen. Rondom het huisje zie je soms leguanen, vogels en apen. De familie was ontzettend lief en gastvrij en wilde het ons met alles naar de zin maken. Prabath verzorgt ook tochten door het regenwoud en zijn vrouw kookt de heerlijkste maaltijden. Dikke 10!

This is not just a room, it's a cozy tiny-house with an excellent bathroom.
Bring your binoculairs and spend some hours on the peaceful terras to watch birds.
Prabath and his lovely family are very welcoming people.
The food is great and Prabath is a guide in the rainforest so he can provide a very nice tour for you!
Do realise it takes about 30 minutes to drive to the entrance of the rainforest.
I found going there on the motorbike an adventure on its own, with lots of beautiful nature on the way too.

Wat we kregen was meer dan we verwachtten: de kamer is eigenlijk een heel huisje. De familie heeft voor de gasten een huisje op het terrein staan met een fijn bed, een prachtige badkamer en veel ruimte. Het is dan wel een homestay, maar je hebt veel privacy, ook op je terras met prachtig uitzicht over de rijstvelden.

Het ontbijt en het avondeten dat je naar keuze kunt krijgen is ook heel goed.

Verder is de familie erg aardig en neemt Prabath je graag mee als gids. Hij kijkt voortdurend om zich heen en ziet dieren die je zelf nooit gevonden zou hebben.

Het was een fijn verblijf, waar je kunt genieten van de 'geluiden van de stilte'. Wat een prachtige en rustige omgeving!

Che dire...è un luogo di pace dove rimanere più di una notte immersi tra i suoni della natura, coccolati dai proprietari. La sig.ra è un'ottima chef ed il marito una bravissima guida che ci ha portate alla scoperta della foresta pluviale mostrandoci quello che il nostro occhio non riusciva nemmeno ad immaginare che fosse ad un palmo dal nostro naso. La camera è grande, pulita e superfunzionale. Lo consiglio a mani basse!

Host Prabat und seine Frau sind super sympathische und herzliche Gastgeber. Das Zimmer (eigentlich ein kleiner Bungalow) ist sehr geschmackvoll und geräumig. Das Bad war das schönste unserer dreiwöchigen Reise. Von der kleinen Terasse hat man eine schöne Aussicht. Reis und Curry waren sehr lecker und reichlich und auch das Frühstück war gut. Preis-Leistung ist top!
Das wahre Highlight war aber die von Prabat angebotene Tour im Regenwald. Er hat einen echten Adlerblick und ist unheimlich bemüht, viele Tiere aufzuspüren. Wir wahen 7 Schlangen, zahlreiche Echsen und Frösche, Tolle Vögel, Tausendfüssler sowieso … Prabat hat uns viel Zeit zum Fotografieren gelassen und er wollte wirklich, dass die Tour für uns ein tolles Erlebnis ist. Bei der von ihm empfohlenen Wasserfall-Tourfährt man nach dem Besuch eines ersten Wasserfalls zu einem etwas abgelegenen Eingang zum Regenwald, wo recht wenige andere Touren unterwegs sind. Der Rundweg ist toll, Lunch gibt es an einem herrlichen Wasserfall und am Ende der Tour kann man in einer herrlichen Gumpe an einem weiteren Wasserfall baden. Nicht erschrecken, wenn ihr eure Füße ins Wasser haltet ;-)

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Besonders die Jungle-Tour war ein highlight. Der Guide war unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und hat uns viele spannende Dinge erklärt. Auch das Essen war lecker und frisch zubereitet.

Ein ganz besonderer Dank geht an den Besitzer: Als mein Partner krank wurde, hat er uns mitten in der Nacht Wasser gebracht und sogar angeboten, uns zum Arzt zu fahren. Wir haben uns sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt.

The real highlight is the excellent rainforest trek led by the host Prabath. I was lucky enough to see many unusual species endemic to this area of Sri Lanka. A wonderful experience.

Wat een gezellige familie. Ontbijt en diner waren heerlijk. De kamer modern en ruim met een mooie badkamer met warme douche. Het uitzicht is ook geweldig. De eigenaar is ook gids en heeft me een dag meegenomen op de motor. Eerst naar een waterval buiten de jungle, daarna een jungletocht naar meerdere watervallen. Onderweg zagen we slangen, andere kleine reptielen, kikkertjes, spinnen, enzovoorts. Het was geweldig! En ja, het is REGENwoud, dus het kan regenen.

Our stay at Rainforest Star Accommodation near the Sinharaja Rain Forest was truly unforgettable. Prabath and his lovely family welcomed us with such warmth and care – always checking in to make sure we were comfortable, well-fed, and had everything we needed. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the jungle.

The food was a highlight – delicious home-cooked meals made with love and local ingredients.

The rainforest walk arranged by Prabath was a real standout. We were guided by an expert who had a deep knowledge of the forest and helped us spot rare birds, insects, reptiles, medicinal plants, and even a waterfall. It was an immersive and educational experience we’ll never forget – a must-do if you’re visiting the area.

Adding to the magic, Prabath told us about a nearby Poya celebration and parade in a local village and arranged a tuk tuk so we could attend. It turned out to be one of the most special experiences of our trip – a beautiful, authentic cultural event filled with music, colour, and friendly smiling locals. We were the only tourists there and felt completely welcomed.

Prabath and his family are wonderful ambassadors for Sri Lanka – generous, genuine, and full of heart. If you want to experience the true essence of the country – its nature, culture, and hospitality – this is the place to stay. Highly recommended!

I was greeted with the biggest smile from Prabath, his generosity and warm character made me feel home the moment I arrived.

To add to this… Probath’s wife makes the most delicious food and their accomodation is SPOTLESS. Clean, stylish and comfortable. It was definitely the best accomodation I have had during my trip in Sri Lanka.

To top it off Probath is an EXPERT local guide who thrives off of sharing his knowledge of Sinharaja Forest Reserve and the local area. I felt safe, looked after and lucky to have him as my local guide!
