The property was in a good location
We didn’t end up staying here and booked a new hotel once we saw our room. we booked a double bed with a view of the city ( as pictured on the website). We were then shown to a sub-basement room with half windows to the sidewalk and bed broken off the wall. We then asked to change to the room we booked and then shown to another subbasement room where the bathroom roof was hanging off the ceiling and could see into the interior of the hotel… we had no choice but to rebook another hotel on the day. The staff memeber was unable to assist us with providing the room that was advertised. Unfortunately to misleading and deceptive advertising on the website we found the room unhabitable, and dangerous (ceiling hanging off) for the prices we paid. We are still in the process of being refunded.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Particularly Marcella and Justin.
On my second night stay, fire alarm was constantly on until around 3;00 in the morning. It started in the afternoon. Couldn’t sleep. Waiting for hotel to send me a refund for that horrible night
I really enjoyed how it wasn’t so far from public transportation or the night life.
How small the rooms are really but other than that it was cool.
Excellent location
The shower handle broke and couldn’t control temperature very well
It was nice to be able to walk to Chinatown
This hotel is shabby and nothing worked. The tv was broken, the phone was non functional, there was no ice, no refrigerator in the room or public space, it was dingy and depressing. There was nowhere to sit except the bed. The street noise was intense and unending. I asked to see a manager for another room because my room was unacceptable and nothing worked, exand was told the manager had quit and there wasn't one who could help. I don't think this hotel should be allowed to offer rooms on bookings.com.
The location and the cleanliness
Very noisy. Very close to the street and people come and go and all times of the night without much respect for people who are sleeping. Its in a party part of town
Location, value, clean rooms.
Bathroom needs renovation.
A review from an anxious 27 year old girly staying on her own.
Unsurprisingly the photos were slightly misleading, and it took some adjusting, but it ended up working out well.
I was put in a room in what they called the basement. It’s not as scary as it sounds, but it is below street level so you wouldn’t want the blinds up as people could see in. The windows were very small anyway and most of the space was taken up by the air conditioning unit, so no natural light. It was also right by the street so there was some noise. You are in a busy part of New York though so I’m not sure this would’ve been too different on another floor. The air conditioning was actually what I found to be the loudest. Earplugs, an eye mask and a podcast were a godsend at night. I would’ve struggled without them, and they made me feel safe and cosy. I was a little nervous on the first night but by the second night I was totally fine and learned to love my little basement room. The woman at the front desk offered to move me the next day to a higher floor but I decided not to as I didn’t want to spend my time moving. The shower wasn’t great, it was six small single jets. I’m not sure if my room was generally worse than the others due to it being in the basement, but it wasn’t like the pictures. I managed to wash my hair so it was okay. It did take 10 minutes to warm up so I got into the habit of letting it run for a while. There was only one plug in my room which wasn’t near the mirror so I recommend bringing a long extension lead. There was a long mirror, wardrobe with some hangers and mirror in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of towels and there were bedside lamps so the lighting was nice. Safety wise I felt safe. There were two locks on the door and always someone at reception. They also had a locked cupboard to store your cases around check in times. They had a free water and coffee machine in the little lounge area. The wifi worked well.
