Dalat Roof Hotel

This could have been the best trip to Da Lat, but turned into the worst. Thanks to the hotel and how they treat their guests. After flying halfway across the world, we arrived in Da Lat for 4 days, including the weekend, hoping to enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere and the views (which we had to pay extra for, but more on that later).

First, we checked in and discovered that all rooms with balconies (we specifically booked one because the view in the Booking photos was absolutely stunning) face the road and an auto repair shop with constant drilling and noise. We asked to change rooms, which the hotel graciously did — for an additional fee, of course. So first they deceive you with photos on Booking, then profit from your desperation. Fine, whatever. We changed rooms, and it seemed like finally we could enjoy the magnificent city views from above and some peace and quiet.

Yeah… except the hotel decided, without any warning, to start cladding the building, and absolutely insane jackhammer noise and building vibrations began at 8 AM and continued until 7 PM. We asked the reception to at least stop the noise on Saturday and… got “oh sorry sorry ok” followed by even MORE noise on Saturday 😀 So after flying halfway around the world to relax in the quiet mountains, we spent all 4 days listening to the beautiful song of drills and jackhammers along with the lovely chirping of construction workers. A completely ruined impression of the entire city, and we will never be back in Da Lat. So the hotel could have gotten 5 stars, but ended up with only one.

Đây lẽ ra có thể là chuyến đi Đà Lạt tuyệt vời nhất, nhưng hóa ra lại là tệ nhất. Nhờ vào khách sạn và cách họ đối xử với khách. Sau khi bay nửa vòng trái đất, chúng tôi đến Đà Lạt 4 ngày, bao gồm cả cuối tuần, để tận hưởng sự yên bình của núi rừng và ngắm cảnh (mà tất nhiên phải trả thêm tiền, nhưng chuyện đó để sau).

Đường vào nhỏ, xa trung tâm, khu vực để xe ô tô nhỏ, được tầm 4 chiếc trước sân khách sạn. Nếu đi chơi về trễ thì k còn chổ đậu

decor chưa thống nhất lắm, tuy nhiên với giá như vậy thì đã là tuyệt rồi.

As the room faces the road, traffic noise especially the horning sound would be really loud, because some section of the windows on top are kept wide opened.

We paid for a room with a view on the mountains - on the picture you see what we got, paid for nothing. Both rooms had no nice view that was expected. The personnel is slow and heavy to understand: we booked two rooms for three persons, they kept asking for the fourth person to stay with us. Water pressure in the shower is very low and you get cold, as air conditioning may not be turned off in the bathroom. We were asked to pay extra for the dirty towels. We moved to another hotel for the next night.
