Quiet, welcoming with wonderful food.

Quiet pleasant stay in the country
Pros:

The staff were helpful and the food in the restaurant was really good. we had the ribs and mussels and they-were well prepared and tasty.

Excellent stay in a very friendly family run hotel.
Pros:

Host was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding, both the big FEB and the fruit based option. Excellent beer. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

Quiet night away!
Pros:

Host and staff friendly and welcoming!
Room small but comfortable, had a good night's sleep, bed very comfy.
Quiet surroundings, peaceful and chilled!
Food was amazing!

Cons:

Lack of decaf coffee in the room, so was unable to have a hot drink until we went down for breakfast.
Would have liked some jam or marmalade to have with toast at breakfast, the breakfast was very limited....

Comfortable, secluded and friendly
Pros:

In a very quiet location, tucked away in a tangle of country lanes, the Barking Buck is a very well restored inn offering comfortable rooms and a copious Full English breakfast. Friendly and very helpful service.
The building actually looks nicer than in the official photos - it’s quite historic and the facade has been lovingly tended. The interior is also well maintained and the owners have successfully cultivated a traditional rural pub style.

Cons:

Nothing significant though a bit more choice of breakfast (eg some fresh fruit) would be welcome.

Super stay, highly recommended
Pros:

Clean, friendly, food was amazing! Big shout out to the chef, Mark the owner couldn’t enough for us, Jack and Charlie the waiters were awesome. Beautiful setting, lovely and quiet. Room was superb and a comfy bed, highly recommend

Amazing place
Pros:

This place is an absolute hidden gem. We stayed for one night and had the most lovely time. Staff are attentive and welcome and the food is incredible. We had a evening meal and it was one of the nicest meals I have had. Breakfast was good also.

Cons:

Breakfast on Sundays finishes at 8.45am which is too early for us but check out was flexible so that was a positive.
