Very welcoming staff, great facilities, nice terrace for dining, We enjoyed breakfast very much!

Un desayuno basado en frutas muy bueno (si te gustan las frutas locales). Simón nos ayudó en todo, muy amable y atento, además de que nos recomendó y acompañó a visitar lugares. Situado al lado del castillo, limpio, una terraza muy bonita. Recomendable.

Our stay in the Lodge du Chateau was very nice. Simon, the manager & guide, welcomed us very warmly, he provided us with a lot of useful info, and organised a few visits and activities for us. We especially liked the hike he took us on up to the mountains, it was a unique experience.
The view from the breakfast room is really nice. Breakfast itself was excellent as well, and the offer of dishes is very good. The staff were super friendly.

Clean and big room, wonderful breakfast and the best staff ever. They have helped to arrange Simien tour, as well as showing me around the city and real life here. One of the highlights of my trip. Simon is an incredible person

The Lodge is a little oasis from the business of Gondar. Simon and Messi were so helpful. Thank you so much to them.

The place is great and Simon is always there to help with any need or directions. He manages his bussiness cleverly and also takes you to sightsee , what’s great. Good bed, wifi and very clean with charming details.
Shower pressure was not good in my room, should be improved.

This is an excellent hotel. The host is extremely warm‑hearted and patient, offering plenty of local travel tips about Gondar for guests. He even took us to the local market and Qusquam‑Maryam Monastery free‑of‑charge. The royal castle is just a 5‑minute‑walk away.
Breakfast stands out the most. It features a wide selection of fresh fruits and authentic regional‑style meals. Highly recommended for Chinese travellers staying in Gondar.

This is the best place to stay in Gonder and Simon was the perfect host from start to finish and he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was happy and comfortable. He arranged all my activities and sightseeing excursions in Gonder and the Simian Mountains and arranged transport to/from the airport for me. I would definitely come back :)

Super accueil par Simon. L'emplacement est très central. Les chambres sont grandes, le lit est tres confortable. Le petit dej bien. Le cadre est mignon. Les conseils touristiques donnés sont tres appréciables. Simon est tres disponible et gentil. Meilleure option avant ou après un trek dans le Simien !

De lodge is super goed gelegen net naast het fort van Gonder. Ik was ook heel goed verwelkomd door Simon en zijn staff en ze hebben me heel goed geholpen met tips om zo mijn verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken!

Simon the owner knows everything you need to know about the city and area. He came with a lot of recommendations and also helped me retrieve my bag from the airport after it had missed a layover flight from Addis, and to find a bus to go to Bahardar in difficult fuel shortage conditions. The hotel is located right next to the castles so you cannot get more central. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Thank you again Simon for your help.

Posto perfetto a Gondar, giusto di fianco al Castello. Proprietario incredibile, oltre ad essere gentilissimo, mi ha portato in giro per Gondar a vedere posti nascosti (il forno italiano) e a fare addirittura l’aperitivo 😂

ロケーションが良く、マネージャーの細かい心配りが嬉しかった。スタッフの姿勢も素晴らしく、特にガードマンの対応が心地良かった。
洗濯も女性スタッフが、丁寧にやつてくれた。

Central location next to the most important landmarks. Professional guiding and deep knowledge about the region. Clean rooms and tasty breakfast, especially local honey.

- Location: 10/10, just next to Fasil Ghebbi/castle complex.
- Accommodation: nice courtyard, good rooms, cute restaurant with a view
- Host: Simon was extremely forthcoming and easy to communicate with. He arranged airport transport and a tour in Gondar. Despite our short stay, we managed to see most of the highlights (Fasil Ghebbi, Debre Birhan Selassi, Fasilides’ Bath) and did a city walk. Transport between sites was arranged with bajajs/tuktuks.
- Extra: we were welcomed with fresh juice and snacks. A good breakfast was also included!
Big recommendation!
