Recommend wholeheartedly, the staff are the jewel in this crown.
Pros:

Beautiful historic building in centre of Cork.
Spotless inside, friendly and helpful reception staff.
Large room, very comfortable huge bed, good linen and towels.
Good breakfast, with plenty of choice. Again great staff.

Cons:

Not keen on the glass wall round the bathroom, but the large curtain solved that.
Interior design over practicality! But at least it has been dealt with.

Really lovely hotel with great staff.
Pros:

The public area was stunning and staff were very attentive and helpful. Our room had dual aspect windows looking over and along the river.

Cons:

Bathroom had been updated which meant the tiles in shower were painted and some was chipping off but it was clean enough.

Pros:

The staff were so nice and friendly. We did have a fire scare, but the staff were so good and efficient at evacuating all guests. They did a brilliant job.

They also didn't charge for dinner or drinks as an apology. Really nice touch.

Cons:

Unfortunately the hot water went off on the evening of the first night and didn't come back on as of thr time I was checking out.
This wasnt great after I went to the gym :-)
