The hot stone bath was definitely something we looked forward to after a long day. The staff were extremely nice and cheerful.
Additionally , they had organised a private camp fire just for us. In the cold weather, this became the way we celebrated our night. Out doors in 4°C but still warm and filled with laughs.
The double bed was smaller than queen size so it was pretty uncomfortable for two people
We stayed here the last night of our brief visit in Bhutan in order to be somewhat close to the airport before a very early flight. While at first it may appear a little outside of the city due to being higher up, there is walkable shortcut down to the center. Taxis are plentiful and very affordable. As a landmark you can say in the vicinity of the hospital. You have a vast view of the valley and Rinpung Dzong. We felt very well received by the young and polite team. This was the only room in Bhutan which was warmed up prior to our arrival. Drinking water was plentifully provided. The beds were very comfortable and there is a serene glass-enclosed balcony to take in the view or meditate. Throughout the property there were nods to serenity like a meditation area or a library overlooking the valley. The food is fantastic, very fresh and to a large extend home-grown. Loved the spinach and mushrooms. Though it may not be an obvious choice due to the location being a little out of the center, I highly recommend Dzi Pema for the kind and sincere hospitality.
Neat rooms.
Restaurant service is poor.
Except the girl in the reception who always greeted us with a charming smile, the others were tight faced. The chef girl was alwys in a hurry to leave as she said she has to travel much to her home and as such we have to finish our dinner by 8 pm latest.
After three such instances, we had to have our dinner from outside. Hope the owner would look into this.

The staff overcharged us when helping with the taxi arrangement
I loved nearly everything — starting with our room, which had wooden floors and ceilings and offered a stunning view of the Paro valley. The office and dining area were beautifully decorated, where I enjoyed their delightful apple wine and K5 whiskey. The tastefully designed reading room, made of wood and glass and stocked with an excellent selection of coffee table books. Adding to it all was the attentive young manager who took care of every request, and the peaceful charm of the countryside completed the experience.
I was heartbroken to learn that the property will soon be turned into a five-star hotel, as it means I’ll no longer be able to afford staying there.

Nothing.
We were completely catfished by this property. The photos look nothing like the location. The bedroom didn't have screens, and it was very hot inside, with only a stand-up fan to cool you down. There are mosquitoes in Bhutan so we would have been eaten alive. The grounds are overgrown and weedy. The fire pit had a family of nine living beside it, staring at you. The hot stone bath? It was somewhere hidden in the overgrown weeds: we didn't try to reach it. There is no shower stall: just a nozzle on the wall right beside the toilet and a bucket below. I had booked a bunch of rooms for our friends; we decided that everyone would be terribly unhappy, so I paid for the four days (no cancellation policy) for everyone, and we departed the property after staying only an hour. The staff tried their best. It was an uncomfortable situation and a big mistake.
It was an outstanding experience ! The interior reminded of a home. The business is lead by girls only. This led to a warm atmosphere.
Very near to airport and comfortable
Food was not as good as we expected
Penjor tries to accomodate special requests and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. You have a great view of the Paro Valley and tucked away in the mountain nestled in a quiet serene corner. The main town is only a 15 minute walk down the hill and you have the best of both worlds where you can reach the town easily and yet have a certain quieitude.
