The Crown Hotel Bawtry-Doncaster

Only one plug socket in the room opposite the bed - makes it very difficult when multiple items need charging or charging plus electric items( hairdryer/razors/kettle/tv) being wanted at once.

Zero airconditioning ( but looks like there was one at some point) nor any fans provided- but wouldnt be able to use as the only plug socket in use- with ground floor room directly into carpark- very loud and hot during both day and night due to windows needing to be open.

There is a car park, it is £7 per day, or something like that, the space is very narrow and very short. It’s also not a large car park so there were no spaces. There is public parking at the front, only allows you to park for eight hours on the app. You have to keep returning to your car.

To the hotel itself…
There is no air-conditioning, there are only small Top windows, but as we were downstairs, we wouldn’t have trusted having the windows open if there had been larger. The window faced an ugly wall. The bathroom door was sticky. The bath plug didn’t work, and the toilet roll holder was in need of repair….

There were no sockets next to the bed to allow people to charge the phone, and they’re only two sockets in the room one which had the TV in. So factoring charging phones or Ironing or Hair straighteners hairdryer et cetera. Not enough electric socket provision. I know USB is the tall in the room. Definitely need of refurbishment. Definitely not worth the £140. I was charged and that’s without breakfast.

Room very dated

Hotel is a bit dated. Bathrooms need an overhaul.

Appreciate it was a very hot night but the temperature in the room was off the scale. Reception provided a fan but the room was still unbearable. Add aircon and would make for a perfect stay.

The rooms had no AC and was extremely hot

Certainly not a 4 star. Bathroom dirty and filth comes out the taps. Sink blocked. Room extremely bare and had to ask for extra tea bags and milk as we had only 3!

The shower had no power was just a drop of water and the sink tap spayed all over you.

Quality of room was poor and not the 4 star luxury hotel as described on their website. The bathroom did not provide anywhere to place toiletries meaning you had to store, collect and return your toiletries as you required them. If was travelling alone, so this would be compounded if travelling as a couple. I haven’t experienced this in 40 years of travelling. Coffee or tea are not served at your breakfast table, there’s a single machine to help yourself which is located in a recess where other breakfast items are available. As such this can lead to queuing and congestion, so avoid busy times.

Toilet paper in toilet on arrival. Room unbearably hot, no fan or air conditioning.Scolding hot water in bath and cold tap not working, so unable to take use of the bath as full of scalding water. Only one bath sheet and hand toy in bathroom for two guests. Over priced room at £130 one night, no breakfast included, room very tired overlooking noisy kitchen. Unprofessional staff as on departing we were not even asked if we’d enjoyed our nor if everything was to our satisfaction. After mentioning water situation we were told that they were unaware of faults ! We wonder how housemaid managed to clean the bath !!! Regards Debbie.

The carpets had lots of stains in it .. room 105 it was dirty . Wallpaper was hanging off the wall at the side of the wardrobe. Behind the units were dirty .. people coming back to their room at 2:30 shouting with no consideration to others .
