Carpets could do with a clean, Bath and shower in bathroom, but the shower wasn't plumbed in.
None available
This used to be a lovely family run hotel.
Not anymore, it is now run down and filthy would never stay again.
Breakfast not available due to renovation. Hotel fine needs a little tlc on the outside of the building. Lots of noise from outside. Bar area nice. Nowhere iin bathroom for toiletries even though Hugh bathroom just needs a shelf easy fix but not thought of. Little tired the room
Outside not very appealing needs tlc very noisy location
The room was well sized with a comfortable bed and was spotlessly clean. Plenty of storage space. A fan was supplied.
No evening meals on Monday and Tuesday. Luckily a Wetherspoons was a 5 minute walk away.
Nothing.
I was really excited to upgrade to a Superior King Size Room, having saved for this stay – but the experience was such a disappointment.
The room was dirty, dusty, and had an unpleasant smell. To make matters worse, it was full of mosquitoes. The bed was unbelievably hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable, while the décor looked extremely tired, with plaster cover-ups visible everywhere. The blinds were thick with dust, the carpet felt unclean, and the furniture was covered in paint marks.
The bathroom was just as bad: no proper shower (we had to bend in the bath to shower), broken taps, a wobbly toilet seat, filthy floors, limescale in the toilet, a dusty mirror, and a stained dressing table seat. Even the window sills were dirty. The room was unbearably hot, and despite the “upgrade,” the TV didn’t work. The WiFi didn’t work
On top of all this, drinks were cheap quality yet charged at extortionate prices. We were stuck, as the hotel was fully booked for the wedding and other hotels nearby were also full.
I couldn’t wait to get home just to scrub the dirt off me. This was far from the “superior” experience I had saved up for. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
There was no hot water for the duration of the stay. Spoke with the staff who where very unhelpful and didn't seem bothered. Contacted them 5 times via email to receive no reply. try to cancel due to basic amenities not provided and still got charged for the days i cancelled for the remaining of the week and the following 2 weeks booked there.
My room was cancelled at lunchtime due to a fault with the bathroom, so I didn't get to stay at the hotel. I am still waiting for a refund 3 weeks later.
My room booked for the 9th August was cancelled at lunchtime on the day of my stay and I am still waiting for a refund 3 weeks later. Have sent numerous emails to the hotel with no response from them.
Have started a dispute with my bank now to try and get my money back from the kings arms or booking.com
Did t have breakfast. The location was fine
The room was comfortable and clean the outlook was terrible but it is an old building in the middle of town. It suited our requirements
Nothing
Everything
The location was great staff were really friendly.
Kitchen wasn't open they didn't let you know until after I booked.
Sheets had lipstick on them , plus room was a bit dated , carpets old and looked grubby , plus there was no lift that I could see which was ok for one night but if I had a bigger case not ideally for taken up stairs.
I was disappointed with the breakfast we had a medium which was 1sausage spoon of beans 1bacon half fresh tomato egg and a hash brown no toast or butter and butter
Location itself
Staff were helpful and friendly
No breakfast facilities
Looking old and tired in places re: carpets and decor.
Location is perfect with on site parking. Nice idea to have a fan in the room but no aircon
. No breakfast available in the hotel so had to go elsewhere in Bicester. Can’t understand why lunch and dinner are available but not breakfast. They are really missing a trick. Both outside and inside are looking very tired and need of investment.
Bedroom was small and old fashioned and needs decorating.
laid back friendly attitude .location perfect for me , in town .
Everything
Nothing
Nothing!
The staff were not particularly welcoming. The room was very tired and tatty, seriously in need of some TLC. We checked-in and within minutes checked-out, I have never ever done this anywhere before! The bath was filthy, the mattress was uncomfortable - it was saggy in the middle and needed replacing, there was no mattress protector. The carpet was thread bear and looked unclean. We received an email from the hotel a couple of days before advising the kitchen wasn't operating - this is appalling given we were unable to amend our reservation as it was booked on non-refundable basis. The notes on the email advised this was only until September 2025, which is clearly completely untrue! I work in the travel, tourism and hospitality business, frankly I was appalled and would strongly urge booking.com to remove this property from your website, mine is not the only negative review of late!
