Lovely rooms, gorgeous setting, authentic country pub.
Pros:

Didn't have breakfast at the Eltham.

Cons:

I grew up in Clunes and have a huge soft spot for the Eltham Hotel. Loved the quirky, imaginative decor of the accommodation but felt the rooms were very expensive for the facilities provided. It suited me perfectly, attending a function in the restaurant downstairs but the steps were wobbly, the bathroom was basic, the food in the restaurant was ordinary. It was a schizophrenic experience - I would have happily stayed in the old Eltham with its old Eltham rooms but instead felt I was paying for superficial styling that didn't go that deep.

Country Pub Weekender
Pros:

Country Pub Weekender. Central to explore villages, Lismore, National Park ect. Back in evening for dinner and ale. A true INN. Realer vibe than the fashionable nu-gentry of nearby villages.

An excellent hinterland adventure stopover
Pros:

Old pub character reigns supreme at The Eltham. Old but clean and tidy. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The steak is a must !

Cons:

No major issues, but manage your expectations of the regional area … no TV, no internet connection. We loved the disconnect but if you can’t this is not for you
