It was good value and the member of staff at the bar when I arrived was lovely. Friendly and welcoming!
It’s very tired and desperately needs a bit of care and attention. It’s noisy by the road. One of the pillowcases was ripped and there were no pillow protectors so I assume people just sleep on the pillow as the case falls off and the pillow isn’t washed. It’s very cheap so you can let quite a bit slide for the price, but some things just felt like a lack of care and attention. It was fine for a few nights on my own but it was very basic!
nice room. not far from Swansea everything works but is used
The staff were excellent couldn't do enough for us very welcoming.
The bathroom could have been redone a bit more modern and the bed was a bit too springy dick was a bit dated and broken blinds and windows could have been cleaned.
Breakfast was very nice, could up grade the sausages to make it really good. Staff friendly. Menu in the evening extensive and good value, food was great.
Car park small and tight, I got the last space when I got there and had to manoeuvre into the space. One of the reasons I booked was onsite parking. Minor detail, you couldn't fill the kettle up from the sink tap as not enough space.
40 a night, friendly staff, above a pub with ok pub food, nice locals, near the river/canal path, nice to hear the river at night. I got a parking spot in the car park. Very chilled and well priced beer!
Had a great stay over.
Could be a bit cleaner in places (sorry!)
Breakfast was a tenner on booking.com and less if I'd have paid there!
Friendly, inexpensive and a superb breakfast…
Nothing
All good
There were no problems
Rooms are looking a little tired ( could do with a refresh and new curtains)
Not really being explained to in connection with the breakfast times for guests.
The evening food was nice and well priced
The room carpet was grubby and the heater was broken off the bathroom wall. I was charged for the wrong food and am still awaiting a VAT receipt for the rooms which had been entered as a requirement on the booking, requested at check in and check out, plus requests sent via Booking.com messages.
Breakfast was really good, a big portion and also and also a tasty vegan option. The Dillwyn was perfect for our one night stay. Comfy bed and an ensuite bathroom. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Although it appears to need a bit of TLC on the outside (letters missing from the name of the hotel, one side covered in climbers), inside it is a different matter…
To be greeted by your first name on arrival is highly unusual and makes you feel very welcome straightaway. The room was perfectly adequate - twin beds, bedside table, tea and coffee, TV (rather confusingly with both Sky and Smart tv remote controls) and shower/toilet (just be aware that the shower is electric and needs to be switched on by a switch on the wall opposite, which I mistook for an emergency cord!). There is also wifi provided by Sky Broadband.
There is a restaurant for meals with a full and varied menu (and bingo the night I stayed) and an amazing range of real value for money breakfasts, even including one with cockles and lava bread if you want the true Welsh experience. All the staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming.
And all this at a price which is a real bargain and very hard to beat, especially as it includes breakfast.
Location was great for the Beacons.
The pub had a great patina about it.
Nothing
Old school, like proper old school boozer with rooms. Friendliness of the staff made the stay
Not sure it’s seen a paint brush for a few decades

Gezellige pub en goed restaurant
Ietsje gedateerd
Breakfast was good. Cooked individually and served quite quickly.
There were no water glasses in the en-suite.
