Oskar’s place offers simple, spotlessly clean, and very convenient accommodation for solo travellers near Stoke. He is an extremely communicative and friendly host, the room was exactly as I expected, and the location is ideal, just off the A50. Great value for money, I would stay again.
I agree with other comments about the guest room lacking a lock, though I didn’t feel unsafe at any point.

The host was so nice to allow me to use all the facilites in kitchen and bathroom which was really what I needed as a long trip cyclist.
The room was as pictured. Tidy flat. Polite guy. If you’re a bloke looking for a cheap and tidy place it’s a good option for you. I am not so it really did not work for me as a woman. I absolutely could not relax there due to the issues in the next section.
This is not a good place as a solo female. No lock on the bedroom door and you’re in the flat with the young male owner who lives there. I was googling alternative places to stay within 5 minutes of arriving. The block of flats are pretty intimidating from the outside to arrive to. Old mattresses by the bins, old armchairs by his front door, smell of urine in the walkways and remnants of laughing gas balloons all over the place. The flat itself stank of weed. I stayed in the bedroom but couldn’t relax as no lock on the bedroom door, I had to wedge the bedroom chair up against the inside of the door to try to sleep. I needed an early night to work early the next day and he decided to start cooking himself dinner at 10-10.30pm, banging and clattering around the kitchen. Then more again an hour later to wash up. Neighbours are noisy too. No bin on the bathroom for ladies use. Entry door was tricky on the way in and way out, he did assist immediately though. He came across as a nice enough guy, but the whole set up was not for me, if there had been a hotel room nearby available to switch to a reasonable cost I’d have been out of there like a shot.
