The hotel is located in a valley around 12 km from the city of Trabzon. It is relatively remote, a very quiet and serene place, which is not touristic (especially not in the high season, exactly what I was looking for. I had an idea that I was the only guest at the hotel during my whole stay. It has a great restaurant with fantastic food for modest prices, which is reasonably popular with the locals who come to the valley for day, but it was never crowded. During the breakfast (so abundant that I didn't even need to have lunch) I was mostly the only guest. The suite including bathroom and balcony were spacious and very clean, everything is new, the rain shower is great and so is the bed. I can not think of the better "value for your money" option in the region for a comfortable stay. The receptionists at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, have arranged a taxi for a day tour in the city with a very polite and friendly driver for a more than a reasonable price. Hotel transfer was EUR50 (price notified in advance), but it was a luxurious Mercedes minibus, so it's understandable.
"Expectations management", as the hotels here are mainly oriented at the guests from Arabic and thus Muslim countries:
Being half-Turkish, I came to this region to experience "the authentic Turkey". This is quite a conservative and religious part of the country, very different from Istanbul or Turkish Riviera. Around 6 am there is a call for a morning prayer at a mosque nearby. No alcohol is served at the restaurant (both not a problem for me). Some of the receptionists speak a bit of English, but most of them hardly do, so my (limited) knowledge of Turkish helped a lot. The restaurant staff hardly speaks any English at all, while the menu in English is available. Being at a remote place you either need to rent a car or to call a taxi (around EUR18 one way to Trabzon center). I also wanted to go to the Main Square Hamam, which was closed for the reconstruction while at the hotel I was told it was open. So I went to a spa at a hotel in the center (Yol Is Holiday 4*), hamam+massage for EUR40 are highly recommended.
Finally, unfortunately it is not a place for women travelling alone: one of the restaurant workers was hitting on me and suggesting that he could drive me around and keep me company as "a friend", I guess he got a wrong idea that, being alone, was "looking for something". The same evening at 9 pm I was called in my room and woken up with a question "Are you coming?". I was so displeased, that I didn't even want to eat there anymore. I thought he was the one who disturbed me, complained at the restaurant, some calls were made and they "found out" that it was the reception that called me (?!) Noone, except for the female receptionists whom I told about the incident, even cared to apologize for the inconvenience.
Locatie was perfect. Personeel in het restaurant was echt top en aardig. Het ontbijt was super lekker en heel veel we kregen het nooit op.

Breakfast and location both were amazing. the room along with the washroom was very spacious. The view outside was amazing at daytime. Our heater wasnt working the first night we came so the staff was kind enough to shift us to another room at midnight.
The room and toilet were clean but you could easily spot big spiders and webs on the ceilings. The location gets very quite and spooky at night especially soon after the sunsets because of which we had to return to our hotel before sunset. There are 3 restaurants and one cafe nearby in which the hayel vadisi restaurant and Villa park restaurant is worth trying. Every other location needs to be accessed by car.
We loved Hayal Vadisi, their warm and generous hospitality is exceptional!
