Breakfast was delayed as the chef was not available till later . So we checked out at 11 am then were served breakfast . Alex was very helpful in sorting this out, this made the end good
Communication -
There was no update from staff regarding difficulties to find chef till we went downstairs when we were informed of the situation . A note passed to the door could help us plan our night better eg sleep longer .

We paid for bed and breakfast but we're told no breakfast served Monday but no refund on the roo

For the price we paid it was very good value for money. the room was comfortable, we enjoyed dinner which was very good value. Breakfast was excellent, very well cooked and to be honest was a pleasant surprise. Couldn't fault the staff.
Whilst we didn't report either, but on reflection should have done, the main light in the bedroom flickered on and off on a few occasions and we had to remove the 'plug' in the bath for the water from the shower to escape.
Spacious room, delicious food and friendly staff
The breakfast was excellent.
Car parking was a bit of a tight squeeze, luckily a space became available shortly after our arrival so we didn't need to park in an unmarked space.
No fridge in the room but we saw there was a shared fridge outside the room.
Amazing room, big bathroom, big comfy bed , absolutely perfect .
Had to have an early check in due to attending a wedding and the staff could not do enough to help

The chequers inn is a nice pub with rooms attached. The food and beer was alright, shame that there wasn't much beer choice out side of IPA but the ones that were there were good. The room was fine and the location was nice. Chequers really shines with the staff.
Air con in the room wasn't working but we didn't mention it so it might have been an easy fix

To be honest it wasn't the type of place I would have chosen to stay but the reviews were quite good.
I made a bad choice, I wanted a country pub in a beautiful location, good beer and good food but it didn't meet any of those expectations - I wouldn't want to stay there again.
