Absolutely beautiful hotel that's been recently refurbished. We loved the historic aspect to it too. But the best thing about our stay was the customer service, we were completely blown away. Thank you for such a memorable time.
Gran Hotel Taoro is an iconic hotel, recently renovated and reopened in late 2025 - it is an a unique location overlooking both the ocean and Mount Teide - quite exceptional and steeped in history.
Nothing I didn’t like. Everything was beyond perfect and exceeded my expectations in every way.
The staff, the food, the pools and the location

Nos ha gustado la reforma integral que le han hecho, está todo nuevo, excelente combinación entre madera y cemento. Atención por parte del personal muy buena, atentos en todo momento, desayuno muy rico y con atención a la mesa con platos calientes y bebidas, lo cual es algo novedoso
Hay una incidencia con la ventilación nocturna de la habitación, no funciona si las luces están apagadas.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Gran Taoro.
The scenery, the staff (especially at Oka Restaurant), the food! All exceptional.
Although newly opened, the hotel was terrific. Of course, a few things were not operational and there was a lack of "finishing touches", but this was not a problem. I could see they were coming. I'm sure when we visit in a year or two it will be perfect.
Some small things need to be reviewed:
- water temperature in the shower was wildly variable from extremely hot to cold. Not what I'd expect at a 5 star resort, but not a deal breaker.
- the lack of range at the breakfast buffet, was more 3 star than 5, but what was there was tasty.
- little choice for vegetarian eaters, again it's understandable for a 3 or 4 star resort, but if they aspire to be world beating then they should be able to accommodate something like this more easily.
However, it doesn't take away from our experience. I'd recommend Gran Taoro to anyone that was looking for a little luxury in an idyllic location. Just remember to curb your expectations until the hotel is fully operational.

Friendly staff-clean surroundings-good breakfast although the lady cooking eggs/omelettes during our stay did not cook them well consistently(underdone)
Probably too early to judge properly/fairly as the hotel only opened in October.not enough draw space in our Deluxe garden view room.perhaps a small rethink there might be in order

-douche température de l'eau instable: attention aux brûlures
-en demi-pension pas de repas organisé en salle pour la demi-pension le soir du 31 décembre.
-malgré la demi-pension les tarifs de suppléments nombreux et élevés, pas de dessert compris.
-petit-déjeuner: pas de pain blanc, pas de jus d'orange, malgré une proposition de pancakes - dès 9h30, il n'y en a plus..., peu de produits de qualité pour un 5 étoiles
Das Frühstück war absolut ok mit etwas Potential nach oben. Eierspeisen werden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Müsli Auswahl etwas eingeschränkt. Personal sehr bemüht und freundlich mit Ausnahme von Sprachbarrieren im Bereich deutsch. Die Pool Anlage des Hotels ist traumhaft schön. Doppelzimmer mit Balkon sind perfekt eingerichtet. Sehr bequemes Doppelbett. Insgesamt sehr Modern mit allem was man so braucht. Kaffee und Tee Zubereitung möglich. Kleiner Kühlschrank vorhanden.Modernes, geräumiges Badezimmer.
Das der Fitness und Wellness Bereich noch nicht fertig gestellt ist war uns vor der Buchung bekannt.
Allerdings sollte man erwähnen das es im gesamten Hotelbereich und vor allem in der wunderschönen Pool Anlage immer wieder zu störenden Baulärm kommt. Die Baustelle ist zwar durch einen Sichtschutz abgetrennt, aber der Lärm nervt. Entspannung ist hier schwierig möglich!
Des weiteren sollte man vielleicht überdenken die Auflagen der Liegestühle über Nacht trocken zul lagern und bei Bedarf vom Pool Personal auflegen zu lassen. Leider sind diese teilweise durch Regen so durchnässt das man sie nicht benutzen kann. Das Personal am Pool wird sich nicht überarbeiten wenn man das ändert und der Gast kann sich auf eine trockene Unterlage freuen.
