Pros:

We spent several nights at this hotel and had a somewhat mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was clean, comfortable, and generally pleasant to stay in. The shampoo provided had a truly lovely scent, which added a small touch of care to the otherwise basic amenities. The pool area was one of the highlights of our visit – well-maintained, peaceful, and a great place to relax.

Cons:

Unfortunately, there were also quite a few issues that impacted our overall impression. There were days when towels and cushions hadn’t been laid out on the sun loungers, which made the pool area feel a bit unprepared. The fitness area by the pool, looked quite damp and uninviting, with a musty atmosphere and visible rust on some of the equipment – not something we felt encouraged to use.

Although the hotel is listed as beachfront, it’s actually located about a 6–7-minute walk from the beach, which should be clearly communicated.

Guests are expected to request meals a day in advance, but no one informed us of this, which caused some confusion. The property itself felt a bit worn in places, and reaching our room involved climbing many stairs – not ideal if you have mobility concerns.

The manager’s behavior made us uncomfortable at times; he commented on my mood asking my boyfriend when we walked past him "madam is upset ?" and walked around barefoot in stained clothes, which didn’t convey a very professional image. Despite informing him that I’m vegetarian, I was still served sausages for breakfast, and when I reminded him, his response was simply that it wasn't a problem - I could just give them to my boyfriend. Not exactly the level of consideration one expects.

Breakfast couldn’t be customized, and there were no power adapters in the room. Finally, when we arranged transport to Colombo through the hotel, the car was surprisingly basic considering the very high price we paid.

All in all, while there were definitely aspects of our stay that we appreciated, the experience as a whole did not quite live up to the standard – or the price – of a 5-star hotel.

We didn’t get to look at the lunch menu however this would have been nice as the food was very good at breakfast .

Incredible
Pros:

Our stay here was incredible and we felt so welcomed. I celebrated my birthday at The Nine and they planned a special rooftop dinner. Everything from the service to the surroundings was amazing and so well thought out. Delicious food and beautiful views of Mirissa.

Beautiful place with equally beautiful people
Pros:

The nine is set into the green and looks stunning. The staff were amazing and so friendly and went out of their way to help and give information. The pool is lovely and breakfast was really yummy

Great views and friendly Sri Lankan hospitality- just needs a bit of a polish!
Pros:

Loved the views from our rooftop terrace! The staff were so kind and helpful and the manager Wasantha went beyond expectations to make our stay special.

Cons:

Although the aspect of the room was amazing- the outlook, the views - we believe the furniture in the property really needed an upgrade. For the price and grading of the property we expected more. The fittings & furniture looked old and jaded and the bed was very noisy and creaky with every movement. Small issues for some, but for our stay of 4 nights it did impact our experience.

Geweldig modern, lux hotel met heerlijk zwembad. Uitstekende locatie vlakbij de haven en Secret Beach, maar ook dicht bij diverse strandtentjes- en restaurant. En bovenal: geweldig zorgzaam en ontvankelijk personeel. Ze helpen je met alles. Zeker een aanrader, maar wel als je ruim in het budget zit!
