Oasis by Franklin Hotel Boutique was comfortable if slightly quirky accommodation. Parts of the apartment seem to be made from shipping containers. That isn't a negative at all, but took us a short while to realise why the rooms had the layout they did and certain features! Although ground floor, small steps up/down between rooms. Well equipped kitchen, air conditioning, small pool. WiFi, TVs in each room. Easily walkable into town. Ubers readily available to go further. Lovely to see Pepe the resident sloth!
Right next to a small river which master ensuite bathroom is semi open to, although fully screened. This provided steady, pleasant background noise.
Reminder you need to pay cash or PayPal (as stated on listing).
No hot water in kitchen or master ensuite (was in second bedroom), socket by mirror didn't work. Little storage for clothes.

La comodidad de la habitación, la ubicación y la piscina (es pequeña pero está muy bien). La persona que está casi todo el rato en el hotel, quien creemos que es el padre de la dueña, fue muy amable.
Nos olvidamos una cartilla de vacunación internacional y como la transferencia no se hacía efectiva inmediatamente (tardó unas horas) tuvimos que pagar por PayPal. Por lo tanto, pagamos dos veces el envío. Al solicitar a la dueña del hotel la devolución de la transferencia nos dejó en visto por WhatsApp.

Great location only a couple of minutes walk to the main road. Lovely addition of a small pool and to top it off Pepe the sloth and toucans in the garden.

Lamentablemente las dos noches que estuvimos, dormimos mal, la noche del viernes llegaron unos huéspedes después de las 10 pm he hicieron mucho escándalo llevando las maletas a la habitación y la mañana del domingo unos huéspedes otra vez hicieron mucho escándalo al retirarse de la habitación, esto entre las 5 y 6 am

Room with view of volcano was excellent. Staff were helpful. Location was far enough away from busy square and hostels - but short walk to supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Clean rooms. Saw two sloths in the trees in the property.
Thin walls so you can hear everything - especially as our room was next to the communal kitchen. No daily cleaning / or towel changes - have to ask for this.
Pros:

Cons:
- there is no reception, so we had to wait 25 mins for someone to come to give us the key to our room.
- every time someone used the shared kitchen in the morning (starting at 6.45), we were woken. We could tell the people in the kitchen were trying to be quiet, but the rooms are not fully sealed or in any way soundproof, so we heard everything.
Minor things:
- no sockets beside bed
- no bin in room
Close to plenty of good restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was especially so. I really liked having access to the shared kitchen and the pool.
There is no hotel office on site. I was lucky enough to catch another guest outside who knew how to get in touch with the innkeeper. Apparently, she had sent check-in instructions via the Booking.com app, but I had not had internet service for a few days. It all worked out, but it would be good to have a back-up plan for guests like me. Another guest arrived the next day with the same issue.
