Nice place, great location with friendly staff.
Pros:

One night stay for a function down the road. Nice comfortable room, quiet location. Superb views down the Newlands valley. As a Yorkshireman was impressed with the beer selections at the bar. Didn’t have dinner there but nice breakfast and super friendly staff. Would def recommend.

Cosy small pub/hotel. Great staff.
Pros:

Very cosy and close to Catbells

Cons:

Slight negative due to arriving and staying with bad weather. Not much to do, whilst raining.

Beautiful, Cosy Inn
Pros:

It’s stunning, sat at the base of Cat Bells within the Newlands Valley, it’s the cosiest 17th Century Inn. The owner was there when we stayed and was just the nicest guy! All the staff went above and beyond for us and couldn’t have been nicer!

Comfy and friendly in a great location.
Pros:

Wonderful staff. Good dinner and breakfast. Lovely location and the room had everything we needed. Bed was super comfy and the bedding was crisp and fresh.

Cons:

The pub garden has views of the fells but these are somewhat blocked by the car park / campervans - not the most atmospheric outdoor area.

Location and stay was great but let down by evening meal service.
Pros:

Great location; clean and comfortable room

Cons:

Also ate at property and evening meal service was poor; had to wait for 1hr for food to be served despite it all being pre-ordered. Breakfast service was much better. Not asked how stay was when we checked out

Great Lake District stay.
Pros:

The location is wonderful, the Inn is a delight and a great place for guests and visitors alike for a beer or coffee, either inside or outside.

We love the Swinside Inn and hope to return soon!
Pros:

As an American on a 2 week family vacation all over England, this was our favorite place we stayed! The staff was outstanding. Family operated and everyone was fabulous. The waitstaff, bartenders, cooks, were all super friendly and helpful. Rooms and beds were all very comfortable and clean. All rooms have been remodeled in the last couple of years. The location and the views from the patio were incredible. Food was great. We had 3 rooms booked for 5 people total. Good value.
We wish we could have stayed a few more days.

Cons:

The showers were a bit tight in our room.
