when in sapa, i highly recommend staying at this bungalow in the mountains, away from the city, where we found peace, comfort, and breathtaking views.

the rooms are cozy, well equipped, and the scenery is simply beautiful. even though they didn't have vegan options on the menu, they surprised us every day with delicious vegan breakfasts and dinners.

they also arranged a private guide for our two-day trek through the villages. everyone was so kind and welcoming that i'm sure staying here was the best decision we could have made.

There are just so many types of plants and beautiful flowers here that I managed to take a whole lot of pictures. The dishes are sublime: I loved an entire menu of eggs so much that once I ate them the whole day! Well, perhaps my opinion is biased because I was allowed to learn cooking them here. Though I went solo, the hospitable owner Mr. Vuong was generous enough to upgrade my room to a triple one(!) for free, so yeah.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. Each morning began with a delicious breakfast overlooking the stunning mountains and rice terraces; a view that never got old and quickly became one of our favorite parts of the day.

What was meant to be a short stay turned into a much longer one. Rosie’s Retreat exceeded our expectations in every way, and before we knew it, we had extended our stay multiple times because we simply didn’t want to leave.

Renting a motorbike (drop-off & pickup service) made exploring the beauty of the Sapa region effortless. After days filled with winding mountain roads, local villages, and breathtaking viewpoints, returning to Rosie’s Retreat felt like stepping into a sanctuary of peace and tranquility. The calm atmosphere was exactly what we needed after each adventure.

The bungalows were impeccably maintained, spotless, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. Waking up to the incredible panoramic views each morning instantly put us in a good mood and set the tone for the day ahead.

A special mention also goes to the food and drinks. Many of the ingredients come fresh from the garden and are lovingly prepared by Rosie and her team. Every meal felt fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. In fact, the food was so good that there was often no reason to head into Sapa town for dinner.

What truly sets this place apart, however, is the level of care and attention from the team. Whether it was arranging massages, helping us plan our itinerary, recommending activities, Hmong tracking tour, organizing transportation, or simply taking the time to chat, they always went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of.

Rosie’s Retreat is more than just a place to stay; it’s a place where you can slow down, reconnect with nature, get in contact with Hmong people and feel genuinely looked after.

We had a wonderful stay at Sapa Rosie Home Retreat. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, with beautiful mountain views and a very cozy environment. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and memorable stay in Sapa. We would definitely come back again!

Restés 6 nuits, nous avons été super bien reçu par Maï et Tony qui ont été au petit soin avec nous et qui nous ont aidé à passer un super séjour. Très bel endroit arrangé avec beaucoup de goût loin de l’agitation de Sapa City et pas trop loin non plus en grab (10-15 minutes environ). Très beau bungalow avec terrasse et vue sur les rizières ! On recommande aux voyageurs en quête de calme et de gentillesse !

The views are stunning! Can get very foggy in Sapa but we had 2 clear enough days out of 3 where we got to really enjoy the view. There’s a beautiful trek from the house to Cat Cat Village and for anything else grab is very cheap. Was very quiet and breakfast was lovely. The grounds are very well done and again views are amazing!
