This was a disastrous birthday present
Pros:

We were looking forward to staying in a beautiful building, surrounded by beautiful greenery for my partners birthday treat but upon check-in, we were told you weren’t staying in a beautiful building, and if I was staying in a separate building around the corner once we enter these separately, we immediately noticed how disgustingly dirty, the floors were leading up to the rooms the room itself is also dirty. We made a decision there and then this wasn’t a hotel Do you want to stay in to be fair to the chieck in stuff, They did try to rectify the situation, but unfortunately, the condition of the hotel meant we had made up out mind and decided to go home instead

Cons:

It wasn’t the property we had booked, and we only realized once we checked in.
the property itself was disgustingly dirty, and in my opinion wasn’t fit for any guests to be staying in

Basic - shame really as grounds are amazing .
Pros:

Beautiful grounds

Cons:

The staff took too long to respond to queries , the initial room we were provided has no shower gel and half a toilet roll . When I notified reception it was 1.5 hrs before they resolved .

As a good will gesture they moved me to another room with a bath tub and free standing shower , however the shower wasn’t working and the bath tub had no shower curtains .

A few cobwebs throughout the property . The family room booked had the most uncomfortable bed , it was two single beds joined together , and for what was meant to be a romantic birthday getaway , we spent the first night trying to find the best sleeping position as the beds were coming apart .

Breakfast in the mansions is basic , the main hotel had better facilities and more choices .

Average
Pros:

The main spaces.and hub is good for a conference. As a day delegate good meeting spaces, nice grounds.

Cons:

Food at bar is overpriced, over £20 for a.basic burger, very over the top, I had much better burgers for half the price. Staff average not very clear on some instructions or some seemed unsure at reception. Key card didnt work, I had a long walk back to reception and no apology or empathy. One young lady attempted to check in me all over again whilst I only need a room card that worked.

I stay in hotels regularly all over the country and have never given a bad review, I think that tells a story.
Pros:

We paid for 2 rooms which were very expensive for what we got. Shabby rooms, premier inn would have been better. Also had to walk to another building which was a good 15 minute walk in the dark.

Cons:

See above
