room small but comfortable
Pros:

The room was comfortable enough but Small and quite dated.
Unfortunately they had lost the chef so no evening meals
The breakfast however was pretty good served by a very bright and cheery lady.

Pros:

The Breakfast was included and was really excellent (good choices, fresh good quality ingredients, well presented etc.), and the free off-road parking at the rear was convenient.
We stayed in the cottage which is nicely presented, and good value. The only minor issues were the tv remote didn’t work (probably just batteries), the bathroom is a bit tired (toilet hard to flush, mold around the bath), but the shower and overall facilities were good enough.
Overall, a comfortable good value stay.

Pleasant and a beautiful building.
Pros:

The breakfast was amazing and presentation and the choice was excellent.

Cons:

My only disappointment was not being able to have an evening meal at the hotel, I wasn't aware I had to book and had to go to the pub next door.

A tad disappointing
Pros:

We expected a typical four star stay. What we got was an average three star hotel. The breakfasts were good, the evening meals quite good but really just a pub menu. The room had a small amount of tea coffee sugar and one pack of biscuits when we arrived. We had to ask for extra on the first evening but expected them to be topped up during our daily room refresh. However those never happened! At all during our three night stay! So each day we had to find someone to ask for additional supplies. I don’t think having three hot drinks in our room is asking too much. We didn’t ask for biscuits so not sure if they would have been provided daily. The staff were generally helpful and friendly and doing their best but the hotel seemed understaffed with no evidence of anyone overseeing things and being in charge. Our room was quirky but that was ok. The bathroom was disappointing with a toilet seat that didn’t fit and a cold water tap with very poor pressure. The shower was good. We didn’t let any of these things spoil our break as we were out and about during the day and ate elsewhere on the last two nights.

Nice staff, but in desperate need of a refurb - real shame
Pros:

Staff very friendly and efficient - we where late for breakfast but the staff looked after us very professional

Cons:

The rooms where very disappointing - our party had 2 rooms the TV did not work in both rooms,
one room did not have a kettle, another no hair dryer. Decor very shabby and dark with made the room quiet depressing, carpets was very dirty/stained, no mattress cover on beds ( although bed was quite comfy ) our window was held open with a mini bottle of shampoo !! The ceiling in one room was very badly stained - I would guess from a historic leak above - but not attempt had been made to cover the stain up. All doors banged very loudly therefore we were woken up many time in the night and in the early hours.
