Quaint rooms in a beautiful setting
When we came back to the pub at 9pm the place was dark and locked up and we had no key for the main entrance. The owners didn’t answer the phone or the door. We ended up having to climb the fire escape to access our rooms. The next day when we wanted to check out, no one was there. We wait for 45 mins but in the end had to leave - it was a strange experience!
The hotel was well situated, and looked beautiful from the outside.
Upon arrival (4pm) we found the room had not been cleaned. We then had to wait in the bar until it was cleaned. We had 1 free drink, and an apology from the barmaid. Then to top it off there was karaoke on, which is not an issue for us normally, however it went on until 2am, and all we could hear was Sweet Caroline and the banging of furniture, when we should have been enjoying a peaceful break. We have stayed at this hotel before 2 years ago and it was a pleasant stay and good value for money. Unfortunately we wont be visiting agin which is a huge shame.
Awesome location, exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, comfortable, great value for money.
Possibility of WiFi for guests, or rather it being more obvious. Tea/coffee facilities were a little unclean.
Tired, grubby, cheap, bathroom looked like it could use a clean and broken tiles replaced. Staff ambivalent and couldn’t be bothered to show me to my room
Handy location for our visit
No shower. (Corner bath only). Evidence if untreated damp in bathroom. Headroom ‘tight’ for a 6’ person. TV signal nearly non existent.
Very olde world with wooden beams etc
Needed some tlc in the bathroom . Breakfast underwhelming but evening meal fabulous
Great food and great location.
Bathroom tap wouldn’t turn off.
Quaint pub , nice features food excellent
Cleaning and decorating of rooms , need full overall
Plenty of parking and the staff were fab
Room could be cleaner, lots of cobwebs and a little tired
Friendly staff
Nice outside space
I was put in a room with the entrance door in a very tight recess, the door could only have been 5 foot high then with at least a 12 inch step down onto another floor level. I lost count of how many times I banged my head on the short one night visit that I was there, which was more than enough.
It wasn’t clean. The bathroom was full of insects and cobwebs around the sink area.
Tea making facilities were dirty with tea stains in the cups, and a pubic hair was found on top of the kettle handle recess.
The shower attachment on the bath for a shower leaked, and I couldn’t get temperature control, as it was either too hot or too cold.
The bed linen looked and felt clean and fresh, and I did get a good night sleep.
I did have a meal in the restaurant, which was very greasy with burnt vegetables.
I am not one to complain, but on this occasion, I really wish I had!
The staff was friendly when she was there.
The room was not cleaned for a while it seemed. Lots of spiderweb. The bed was like so soft you got your as in the floor. The toilet leaked Water on the floor. The shower did not work and it was not staff there in the morning around 7. Breakfest was served really late. To late. Would not recomend this for staying over. Did not try the food.
Evening meal was lovely
Rooms very run down, need decorating top to bottom, not the cleanest
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room clean and perfectly adequate for my requirements. The breakfast was excellent, as was the evening meal. A bonus is that food is served all day from noon. There is a separate restaurant area, and the bar has all the personality of a traditional village pub
