Lion Gate Hotel Sigiriya

Heerlijk hotel met een mooie setup. Het is er rustig, schoon en gemoedelijk. Je kunt er heerlijk eten en ook het ontbijt wat je ‘s ochtends krijgt is goed! De medewerkers onderkoeling van Bernard staan de hele dag voor je klaar als je vragen hebt en helpen graag. Heerlijk ontspannen genieten in Sigiriya!

We hebben 1 tip, ventilator in het restaurant om vliegen in de ochtend weg te houden. Het verblijf is perfect schoon maar helaas vliegen horen bij Sri Lanka!

Nothing. I couldn’t stay there as they had overbooked. They were not at all honest about this in the first instance. Blamed a power cut. Sent me elsewhere. However the power came back on and when my driver took me back to this property the owner came clean and told us the real reason. The owner was a reasonable man but the manager did not treat me at all well. Most disappointing. I was however invited for a complimentary breakfast the following morning.

Good location, only 5 minute drive to Lion Rock, close to Minneriya National Park, has a pool to cool off.

Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und versucht jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen.

Tout était parfait, le personnel était très attentionné. Nous avons eu le droit à un petit déjeuner tout de suite en arrivant tot le matin. Les chambres étaient très bien. Les petits déjeuners étaient variés.

Schöne und moderne Anlage, die Zimmer sind schön mit eigener Terrasse. Frühstück ist inkludiert. Der Besitzer war leider nicht da, hat uns aber geholfen Fahrten und Touren zu organisieren.

Zeer mooi hotel, leuk en groot zwembad emt goede stoeltjes. Handig dat je ook kunt dineren in het hotel.

Kamer was super proper en douche zeer goed.

Besonders positiv aufgefallen ist uns das Personal: außergewöhnlich freundlich, zuvorkommend und jederzeit hilfsbereit – hier fühlt man sich wirklich willkommen.
Das Zimmer hat uns sehr gut gefallen: großzügig geschnitten, modern eingerichtet und sehr komfortabel. Genau das Richtige nach einem langen Reisetag.
Die Lage ist praktisch für den Besuch des Sigiriya Lion Rock: mit dem TukTuk ist man in nur ca. 5 Minuten dort, zu Fuß etwa 30–45 Minuten – also gut erreichbar.
Das Frühstück ist solide und ausreichend, allerdings ohne Buffet und mit überschaubarer Auswahl: Toast mit Butter und Marmelade, ein leckerer Obstteller, Tee oder Kaffee sowie die Wahl zwischen Omelette und Spiegelei. Frisch aus der Küche serviert und qualitativ gut – wer ein umfangreiches Buffet erwartet, sollte das im Voraus wissen.
Insgesamt eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft mit echtem Gastfreundschaftsgefühl.

The property is in a great location in Sigiriya. Close to the lions rock and plenty of restaurants. Bernard looked after us throughout our stay, from welcoming us in and making us feel comfortable. The air con in the rooms was great, especially after a hot day in the sun. The pool is lovely and the breakfast was delicious. I would recommend staying here for your travels to Sigiriya.

Wow, perfect accomodation. The rooms, the pool, the location, the food, the price and most of all the staff are all superb. If you are thinking of staying in the Sigiriya area then stay here. We had a top floor room next to the pool, perfect. As well as the main sites we also did a late afternoon tuk tuk tour around the area every day with Nimesh which was great, saw elephants by the roadside. Thanks to Bernard the manager for a great stay.

Die Unterkunft ist Klasse. Ich kann sie nur weiterempfehlen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und total hilfsbereit. Egal, ob ein Ausflug gesucht wird, eine Weiterfahrt in einen anderen Ort oder nur eine einfach Empfehlung bekommt man direkt angeboten, aber auf eine nette Weise, sodass man keinen Zwang spürt, das Angebot annehmen zu müssen. Auch die Küche ist Klasse. Jeden Morgen gibt es ein tolles Frühstück und der Küchenchef ist wirklich ein Schatz. Ich kann auch jeden ans Herz legen dort abends auch etwas essen zu gehen. Der Chef macht alles ganz frisch fertig und mit viel Liebe, sodass vorher besprochen werden kann, ab wann man essen möchte und der Chef nimmt sich auch die Mühe, alles zu erzählen, was er genau zubereitet hat.

We just loved the resort feel with the swimming pool and adjoining open spaces. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. Bernard the manager was very helpful in guiding us with transport and sightseeing.
