Barsala At The Monroe Apartments

My family stayed here for a visit to Case Western Reserve University. It was a convenient walk to the school. The place was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Check-in and check-out were simple. We enjoyed our stay! I would book this place again.

Great place to stay, we loved walking to Little Italy. Accommodations were clean and quiet, would definitely stay again.

It's new, clean apartment. The process to get into the building was simple and elegant. Just loved the overall experience. I will for sure be a repeat customer for my subsequent visits.to this area!

Great stay. Easy check in process and communication by text message. Rooms clean. We visited our son at Case Western which was down the street. Easy walk to Little Italy restaurants. We are staying again for graduation in May.

There were a lot of inaccuracies on the listing. There is an elevator, there is free street parking in front of the apartments, you can pay for parking, it just has to be organized with the agents. There was no welcome drink, and my apartment was wet as I got in there, which was unnerving thinking that somebody may still be in there. It was unnerving to have the police there and doors propped open when I arrived, which I am aware is out of the property owners control, but the fact that the doors were propped open was concerning.

the chair at dining table reclined back too far - you couldn't lean back on the chairs. They were almost dangerous - for an elderly person or a child - someone could get hurt. Otherwise the place was comfortable and well appointed

Lovely, comfortable place. Clean and fully stocked. Great communication. Lovely neighborhood, shops, restaurants, etc. Would stay there again.

Location was great, walking distance to Case Western. The large cemetery next door is beautiful with lots of interesting history with great birding and walking. The apartment itself was fine; it was loud with constantly blowing fans, an echoing interior, and industrial feel.

I have two major complaints about my stay. The first is about the apartment itself. It was not clean -- there were crusty spots in the kitchen and on the floor, and some of the furniture was stained. Additionally, some aspects of the apartment were unusable -- the TV remote had no batteries and coffee maker no filters (despite coffee being provided).

The second complaint is that communication was terrible. The check-in process did not match the instructions I was sent. Those instructions told me to get my key from the key cafe using a code from my hospitality contact. When I contacted that person upon arrival they were really confused as to why I was calling them, telling me that instead I should go straight to my unit where the key was on the counter. Later, when I informed this hospitality contact about the issues in my apartment (no batteries or filters, lack of cleanliness) it took them forever to respond and they did not ever actually fix the problem but instead told me they let management know and would get back to me. Which they never did.

So, if you need a place to stay near Case and nowhere else is available, it is fine. Just don't expect very much.

It was a nice, convenient and safe stay.
