Nothing
We arrived and felt very uncomfortable, got shown to a room and never saw a staff member again, we didn't have enough bedding or towels and the cupboards the information told us to get spares from was empty.
We booked this with breakfast included but were told the day before the kitchen was shut and offered no discount or money back
The room was clearly recently done up cheaply wallpaper peeling off etc was dusty and clearly unkempt
Looked fairly newly decorated
The day before our stay was told there would be no food. We had to show proof I had booked a double room and not a twin. Only one bath towel to use.
The room was comfortable
We booked as the reviews said the food was very good but when we got there we were told that the restaurant was shut for a refit. We also paid for breakfast and were offered cold breakfast, cereal, no coffee cups and a loaf of sliced white bread covered in mould.
Clean room and good location
We paid for bed and breakfast. The actual breakfast was cereal and toast but there was no butter or preserves and the hot drink machine had run out of water. No staff on premises to assist
Space room food was excellent
Breakfast Sunday morning unable to have hot drink due to no water in machine or cereal because lack of milk couldn’t even have toast as no butter unable to contact anyone
Breakfast a disaster, Rather worse than Fawlty Towers
Staff friendly and helpful when they were there.
We have sent a letter of complaint to CEO of Hall and Woodhouse.
Good location, great bar, good food
Room tired with basic facilities - bathroom in need of update
Very handy for Ardingly ( right in the centre) . Nice pátio. ( beer garden)
Breakfast was included , but no staff were there , toaster and coffee machine not even plugged in . Only cereal and bread and juice available .
The staff were very friendly and tried to help where they could but everything else wasn't good.
Lack of staff on the premises when closed. Poor variety of self service breakfast options. When we moved rooms, the electricity failed and we couldn't shower for three days which having attended a local festival wasn't good.
The complementary breakfast was poor, sliced white bread , butter and boxed cereals and a coffee machine with attitude
The shower room was damp with and poorly lit
The room was small with a bed pushed up against the wall meaning you had to climb over the person sleeping on the near side of the bed ( fortunately we are able-bodied and knew each other)
Both the barman and chambermaid were perfectly pleasant there were no other staff onsite
A shame as the village appears charming however the hotel needs a lot of investment
Good location
Steep stairs. The ‘complimentary breakfast’ was extremely poor. No cereal bowls or side plates provided so had to eat cereal out of cups. No jam provided for toast.
We arrived off of a flight and there was noone to check us in so we had to find somewhere else to stay.
They blatantly lied and said someone was there until 2130 - I can show from my phone calls to them that I was there at that time and the place was deserted.
Thankfully not with kids or after a very long flight
The staff were friendly and we were given a lovely greeting from Holly. The Inn was clean throughout and refreshments in room was more than adequate. Personal items such as shampoo and shower gel were adequate.
A full English breakfast instead of just cereals and toast would have been more appropriate in an English hotel. A toilet seat that was not secured to the toilet correctly, however that was put right on second day.
The room was lovely and clean
The waiting around to get the kitchen staff attention there was no bell or anything to ring .
And unsure when having a cooked breakfast why we couldn't have a plain omelette and beans ?
