Nice building and fine for a couple of nights - but very unusual set up and would have preferred to pay slightly more to
Pros:

Nice building , very unusual for Bali. Nice local bar and supermarket around the corner and away from all the big hotels if that’s what you are looking for.

Cons:

We booked 2 rooms for 5 people. When I emailed to check there would be an extra bed for my 10 year old, we were told there was a maximum of 2 in each room and all extra beds were sold out. The booking was non-cancellable for a refund. I said that they had excepted my booking for 5 so surely there should be 5 beds?! They eventually came back and said they would provide a bed for the 5th person there would be an extra charge which I agreed to as didn’t want the hassle. When we arrived there was no bed, and again told there was none available. We said we had email confirmation and they managed to find one, but then immediately wanted me to pay for it (literally asked 3-4 times whilst we were in the middle of putting luggage into rooms and sorting ourselves out - they said it couldn’t wait until we had done that to go back down to pay!!). This is the opposite to every other hotel we had stayed at travelling around Bali - they were all so relaxed and trusting and happy for us to pay on check out. It was just a very strange hotel - every morning there were brides and photographers outside our rooms and it was quite noisy in the rooms with staff chatting etc. Location is over 2km/ 15 mins from the centre but easy to get a grab taxi. Air con leaked in our son’s room and completely flooded the room on the second day - they changed the duvet but he did have to sleep on the mattress which was slightly damp. This didn’t massively worry us but can see how others might get more annoyed!! We didn’t use the pool as felt a bit awkward with all the brides and photographers!! It was quite hard to communicate with the staff as they spoke very limited English.

Amazing value for the money.
Pros:

Very beautiful hotel rooms, amazing furniture. Nice location. Quiet at night. Very good value for the money. If im in Sanur - I am definitely staying there again.

Cons:

Shower head was broken unfortunately, and lights outside the room get in the room at night, and I prefer to sleep in total darkness. Easy fix with face mask, but I forgot it.

Pros:

Such a memorable stay. Beautiful grand building. Basic clean and comfortable rooms. And the restaurant provided the best meal we have ever eaten. Staff super helpful. Breakfasts delicious and good coffee!

Cons:

Nothing at all - this hotel is firmly added to our must revisit list.

The hotel feels like a museum, with many photographs and stories about Indonesia displayed on the second floor. The design and architecture are beautiful and full of character.

The hotel has only six rooms available to book online, making it feel more private and unique. It is also a popular venue for wedding photoshoots and has a restaurant open to the public, so it can get a little noisy at times. However, we were out exploring during the day, so it didn't bother us at all.

This isn't the kind of hotel to choose if you're planning to spend your holiday relaxing by the pool. It was perfect for us because we were out all day and only returned in the evening to rest.

The room was beautiful, spacious, and very well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the staff were warm, friendly, and always happy to help. For the price you pay, the value is excellent.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Pitaloka to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable place to stay in Sanur.

A gem in Sanur
Pros:

Very good as usual.
Stayed before in March 2024.
Kitchen closed 1st day of Galungan till 12.00hrs, but breakfast was brought forward to dinner the night before.

Cons:

All good but noisy neighbour kept quiet later in the night

Why do they like to move heavy furniture and slam the doors hard? Sure they don't treat furniture at home like kicking footballs?
