I am writing to formally complain about the extremely distressing and unacceptable experience my wife and I had during our recent stay at Crown London Hotel, Cricklewood (WorldHotels Distinctive).
Upon arrival, we were initially allocated a room that was in a shocking and unhygienic condition. The room had a strong unpleasant smell, dirty plastic items and rubbish left on the desk, used toilet tissue on the floor, stains in the bathtub, a used towel on the floor, and thick dust throughout. It genuinely appeared as though the room had just been vacated and not cleaned before being given to us.
The receptionist herself was visibly shocked when she saw the condition of the room and sincerely apologised. She arranged a room change and informed us that we were being upgraded to a suite. At this point, we expected the situation to improve.
Unfortunately, the second room was even worse than the first.
Although it appeared presentable at first glance, we were immediately hit by a strong smell of dust. Within moments, we noticed that the room was heavily infested with flying insects. Hundreds of insects were present in every corner of the room, flying around continuously and landing on us. This was extremely distressing and made the room completely uninhabitable.
We recorded video evidence of this infestation and showed it to the receptionist, who was again shocked and left speechless. While she remained professional and helpful throughout, the fact that two separate rooms were in such appalling condition reflects extremely poorly on your hotel’s hygiene and quality standards.
To make matters worse, my wife suffers from severe dust allergies and has since been coughing and sneezing continuously as a result of this experience. Additionally, one of the insects flew into my mouth, which was both unpleasant and unhygienic.
This experience was far below any reasonable expectation. We booked your hotel expecting a clean, safe, and comfortable stay.

Location was upstairs, but the manager showed me how to get there in the lift which was brilliant.
The breakfast was excellent, and staff very helpful.

The hotel doesn't match the photos. The rooms are filthy, and the view from the windows is terrible. The glass is dirty, and the wind blows through every crack. Showering is impossible; the water flows very slowly. The manager promises one thing, but the customer receives something completely different. They promised a refund for the remaining nights, but only refunded one. TERRIBLE HOTEL.
