I had a wonderful stay at Grandma guesthouse. Stayed for 3 nights, went on a multi day trek and then returned for one more night. My return felt like coming home. Yusuf and his family are very warm and welcoming, and will go above and beyond to make you comfortable. Organising the trekking and onward travel with Yusuf was super easy and very well organised. He also has a school for underprivileged children, which I went to visit and helped to teach English and played badminton with them. The girls also practise traditional dancing in the Warung connected to the guesthouse (which serves really cheap and tasty local food), so by staying here you will experience more than just the jungle, but also get an insight into the local community. A great experience that I’ll never forget. Thank you Yusuf and family!

It was great staying in Grandma guest house! If you want to stay in a place with local people and have good memories with them, this is the one! Yusuf and his family are really friendly and they are always available to help you with what you need.
I spend also some time with the kids from his foundation (kolibri house) and it was really nice to meet and be with them :) Thank you for all your kindness!

Yusuf and his Family we're very friendly and accommodating. The room was ok, which was completely enough for us.
We booked a 1 day Tour and our guide Dino led us through the jungle. He was realy a good Guide and also very funny. The 1 Day Tour was very informative and we certainly saw around 9 orang utans which was really impressive.
That Day was a successful and very interesting Day.
It was very pleasant.

I 100% recommend Grandma Guest House. Owned by a little friendly family, everyone is honest and will be happy to help you. First night I assisted to kids's traditional dance and a delicious dinner, I keep good memories from my stay in this place. Thank you all of you

The warm welcome ! It makes your travel. I'm used to travel by my own and finding a human place where I feel like home is a gift. All the family here was respectful, gentle and kind with me. The quality for the price is superbe and you will be served if you look for adventure and nature. An immersive experience avoiding touristic places thanks to this accommodation that I deeply recommend. People that you meet is a big important of your travel and Grandma Guesthouse was. The plus : Yusuf, the owner, brought me to visit a school that he created for the village named "Kolibri", and it was one of my best experience meeting these kids in there environment and I'm not sure that I would have done that if I was in a popular hostel. Thank you for this trip !

The staffs are so friendly and helpfull, giving us many information we needed. They have warung serves good food as well.

The location is in the center of Bukkit Lawang next to river.
The cafe has nice food and wifi.
The manager Yusuf is very friendly and speaks good English. He is very helpful and offers jungle tours and transportation to medan and airport. All activities can be booked and organized with Yusuf
