Bournemouth Carlton Hotel By Sunday

We liked to have our morning coffee and eat our breakfast on the bar terrace. We did notice sometimes in the morning and afternoon full cigarette ashtrays on the tables. My Husband and I are non-smokers and found this unpalatable. I feel smoking should be banned especially as there are children around too and its not healthy for them and the full ashtrays do not look nice. Also Guests should be told not to feed the seagulls because they had done alot of droppings on the balcony ledge on our balcony not others, feeding them encourages them.

East cliff hotel they moved us to was run down, no air conditioning, main reason we booked Carlton hotel.

Rooms very very hot and difficult to cool
In evening despite fan and leaving window ajar

The room is dusty
Toilet does not flush properly and smells
Water is instantly hot even when you turn the cold water on
They don't answer room service and reception calls, you have to go down and ask them directly
Swimming pool is dirty, surrounding greens not maintained
They don't provide toiletries (basic toothbrush, toothpaste, water cup maybe?)

Det var meget varmt (juli måned) så det var en skam at der ikke er køleskab på værelset.
Morgenmaden er ikke noget tilløbsstykke, vi spiste der kun 3 ud af 6 gange.
Hotellet bærer præg af at være lidt slidt.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - DISGUSTING SERVICE, NO MANAGER ON SITE, CANCELLED MULTIPLE ROOMS OF OUR GROUP BOOKING & LEFT PEOPLE STRANDED WITH NO ROOM - ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS RESELLING ROOMS AT A HIGHER PRICE. FACILITIES ARE AWFUL. NOT WORTH THE LOCATION OR INITIAL LOW PRICE!!

Vesihanat ja suihku toimivat epämäärisesti, välillä tuli vain todella kuumaa vettä.
Huoneen haju oli epämiellyttävä.

There was no privacy as the rooms next door on both sides could see straight into our room. So had to have curtains closed. Shame we didn't get the sea view that was there.
Also very hot week and the general public just walked in and set up for the day at the pool. Accessed from the bar and not from the Spa entrance where they should pay. Lots of parents with kids as the schools closed due to heat.
Also only two plugs in a cupboard the other side of the room and none near the bed.

Very tired interior, dirty carpets, used pool towels left on landing for 2 days, pool wave bar not open, access to pool not possible after 5pm for a few days, no wine list in the restaurant, no iced water in the reception container but early morning, spa not open. Was booked as a 4**** but has suddenly disappeared from the Booking.com website…..
It is hardly a 3***

We had to queue at reception when booking in as the hotel had double booked. People in front of us were told we haven't got a bed for you! Eventually after 30/40 minutes we got to the front of the queue in the boiling heat (no fan in the reception area or a/c). We got our keys and went to the room. The room was absoutely boiler and well over the 28 degrees maximum industry recommend temperature. We had to leave the door open to get some air in the room. The carpets hadn't been hoovered and there were bits over the carpet. There was rubbish in the bin. There was seeds ? in one of the bedside tables. There was hairs in the toilet. My son's room was similar. I have emailed the manager and he has emailed me back today offering me 30 percent off my next trip to this hotel ?? I would never stay in this pit again. I spent just under £500 for 4 people / 3 rooms and expect a full or partial refund. For a 4 star hotel it needs a lot of work and getting the basics right. !!

The bathroom is very hot, and the water to shower comes out too hot.
Also, it should be upgraded... I love the vintage vibe it has, however it should have a bit of renovation overall.

The heat was unbearable,it was very hard to sleep.Some sort of air conditioning would have helped a great deal.

The hotel was a disgrace. It was dirty, the staff were not trained correctly, they had all been there only 3 months, at no stage was there a manager present at the hotel for the whole stay. I question if they had even had health and safety training which is of great concern as there were a lot of young families staying. There was not a glass in the room or any water. My bathroom was disgustingly dirty old and stained! Breakfast my friend and I had to leave and go out. There was food everywhere, all over the counters, on the floor and nothing being replenished, the coffee machine did not work, tables were not cleared for new guests and the food looked inedible. We sat at the pool for an hour, they expected us to pay £1.00 for a towel, there were dirty nappies and the pool shut at 6pm at the peak of Summer!
