Excellent
Pros:

Incredible surf house with an amazing team. Costa Rica can feel overpriced when traveling solo, but this is a place where your money actually delivers real value—top-tier service, delicious food, and great accommodation. I’d stay here again without hesitation if I return to Costa Rica.

Dicen que tienen parqueo y fue muy decepcionante que no contaban con uno, por eso habíamos elegido el lugar y no tenía parqueo y ya era muy tarde para empezar a buscar otro lugar

Best little surf house in Costa Rica
Pros:

One of the cosiest and loveliest surf houses we’ve been. Amazing location, great kitchen with tasty food, lovely people and nice area. Great staff and comfortable beds. Cute dog and child friendly. We love it

Nothing. Perhaps not easy to reach without a car. But we had one. So perfect location

Pros:

Joaco the manager is a great host and the staff are very kind. The spot is not too far from the beach and local surf areas, a small quiet town which was great.

Cons:

Could of used hot showers for the dorms but after surfing it wasn't a big deal.

very good filling breakfast included. Everyone from the owner, manager and the volunteers were so sick just hanging out, surfing, and helping make sure we had a great stay. the included shuttle to take people to surf/beach/restaurants or anywhere in town was clutch. ive never seen a hostel provide a free shuttle around town. ive stayed in dozens of hostels from Nicaragua-Bolivia-Morocco-Bulgaria and this was one of the best ive stayed at honestly

Cons:

only thing is you can't cook there. everything else blew my expectations out of the water. go to gregorios or manantial for dinner. cheapest and best local food in avellanas

Good vibes, high stoke, fun time :)
Pros:

I had a great stay! The staff was helpful and cheerful. Everything on campus was reasonable priced and delicious. Everything was clean and well taken care of. I noticed the stuff would switching pillow covers, patching float's in the pool, and general cleaning when groups go out for 6am surf. The volunteers were fun, will versed in the area and wanted everyone to feel included and have a good time.

Cons:

The ONLY THING. There’s a dog and a cat on campus, I had to ask the cat didn’t come into the bunk room because I’m allergic. It never came back in the room and wasn’t a problem. I love dogs and was happy to play with the dog during down time.

Pros:

Not a lot. The breakfast was good. And the volunteers were kind and nice.

Cons:

This may have been my fault but I thought this was going to be a bed and breakfast but it was a full hostel. That should be advertised. The room was dirty. Our toilet trash was never emptied in the 4 days we were there. On my last night I went to take a shower and it was a trickle. I had to go to the outside shower to get the soap out, in addition the shower did not have a curtain so water went everywhere. The bed did not have a blanket only sheets. One morning I stayed back to sleep in someone started working on the roof right above me at 6:30 am. The next three mornings I left.

Lovely place!
Pros:

Beautiful place, comfy bed, enormous shower, nice cool pool, good selection of surfboards to rent.

Cons:

It got quite loud every night. Not really the fault of the property but the way our room was right next to the pool and outdoor space made it so that we could hear every word of those out there. It was spring break so the other guests were up quite late and so we could not sleep super well. I think maybe if you have a room upstairs it might be better.
