Convenient for town centre
Pros:

The staff were freindly and helpful and the hotel has been decorated well although it cant disguise the overall run down feeling of the place. In fairness tgis comment reflect Ilfracombe a s a whole.and not just the hotel. The staff made up fornit as they were lovely and there is no denying that we had good value for money.

Nice hotel, close to the beach

Alright for what we Wanted
Pros:

Room was ok, toilet was leaking, when checked out the restaurant smelt of someone smoking and the guy was very blunt

3 days in Devon in very poor "hotel"
Pros:

Arrived 19:00, doors locked and once I was answered, I was ushered up a very dark staircase, to equally dark corridor. Never even asked my name (so i must have been the only person there). told if I wanted breakfast i had to be there between 09:00 and 10:00. Breakfast consisted of a loaf of white bread and partially working 4 slice toaster, some jam on a chipped plate and a box or cheerios. Chap asked if a wanted a cooked breakfast - I asked if there was anything vegetarian and I was told NO. I asked for a fried egg only and was told its Sausage, Bacon Black pudding and beans and egg ... maybe did not understand!! Room not clean and was not cleaned or replenished throughout the 3 night stay. Drains smelt badly and on flushing the toilet (which had an electric pump on it) sewage leaked out of the sink plughole and shower. Corridors not lit (possibly building works but I don't know) and was lit by old angle poise lamp 1/2 way down corridor - not safe!. Huge dog guarded the residents door (for which i had been provided with a key), and barked on entry. Not a good experience at all.

Lovely quiet time
Pros:

If don't have too many expectations you will be fine. They are quite relaxed. Room had a fantastic view. My room and bed were comfy, calm and quiet. Breakfast was good and the staff just nice decent people. Just what I needed (-:
