What a find . I was a bit unsure when I first saw the boat but it was such a fantastic cruise. If you want the personal touch and quiet then this is definitely the one for you . The staff were absolutely amazing . I will definitely be recommending it xx
Food was excellent and plentiful. Rooms were clean and linen fresh. Staff were helpful and our Guide extremely attentive. Enjoyed the trips, the scenery is outstanding and just a magical place to visit.
We had a 2 night 3 day stay but the activity programme catered more for guests staying one night as elements were repeated, i.e. kayaking was offered at least 3 times and the visit to the fishing village was also repeated. We were not able to kayake more than once and so had to stay on board as they wouldn't take us to the beach unless we kayaked there. This trip would certainly not suit the less mobile.
It really would have been more comfortable if cushions were provided for the loungers and chairs on deck. Hard seating becomes uncomfortable.
Also drinking water was provided in the room but not elsewhere. We would have expected complimentary drinking water at the dining tables and bars.
Prices for drinks in the menu were listed in US dollars which is rather confusing for non Americans. Visiting Vietnam we expect the prices to be given in Dong.
We loved the experience

The pictures advertised on booking .com are not close to what your actually get. You will be very disappointed , some guests had to sleep on the deck as unable to sleep in room, the other guests said we are all experiencing the same trauma for 24 hours. The company tried to refund some money in USA dollars but I declined and said I would deal with booking.com. Booking.com said 1/05 /2025 that the company did not respond to them so they refunded 66% however would keep advertising until enough complaints came through.
The photos are not representative of the rooms. The rooms are quite old, which is fine, but some people would be disappointed.
The bathroom was not clean when we entered our room. There was hair and dirt on the floors. The staff did a small clean of the hair for us and were very apologetic.
Our bathroom had issues throughout the cruise. The vent did not work and the toilet became blocked several times. It was smelt very badly.
The food and staff were fantastic. The activities are nice, too.
The cruise was small. We ended up being only 16 guests on the boat. The staff were extremely friendly and made every effort to address our needs. Our tour guide, Lam, was such a nice person. He was very knowledgable. The activities were good for a 2D/1N experience. We went kayaking and spent time at the beach. We did squid fishing on the boat and the next day boated around the fishing village in the Bay.
I tried to look up the cruise and activities but only conflicting information available. I was expecting certain activities but ended up doing other things. I was hoping for cave exploration but that didn't happen.

Andrew, our guide, was very knowledgeable and kind. I liked the small size of the boat as it didn't make me feel I was surrounded by too many people; a much more intimate experience.
Nothing. The cruise would only need a little renovation to get back to its jewel state!
A once in a lifetime experience.
We did the 2 days tour to Halong Bay. The views were incredible beautiful. Our favorite part was the kayak tour in the evening and the nice view from our balcony. Perfect for soaking it all in.
But also the trip to the fisher village and the traditional cooking class were very interesting.
Food was great. Great veggie and vegan options.
The crew was exceptional friendly. We had a lot of fun.
Don’t forget to enjoy a traditional iced coconut coffee in the sundeck :)

We enjoy the view of Halong Bay while Cruisin and we also enjoy the food and drinks served to us
Came into this with fairly low expectations having heard mixed things about ha long bay. Felt compelled to write this review just to say how brilliant this cruise and the staff were and how it massively exceeded our expectations. We docked in a quiet area of the bay which was great as we avoided most of the traffic. Given the price I don’t think you’ll get a better value for money trip. 10/10 and would recommend to anyone. Shout out to Ducky our tour guide who was fantastic and such a nice host!

The staff are willing and generally very positive.
WiFi doesn’t work at all - had to ask a member of staff for it to be confirmed.
Food was quite poor.
Main guide was barely understandable in English. No summary of day 2 activities provided on paper, so for some people it wasn’t clear what time activities would take place or what those activities were.
You’d be better to pay more for a better experience, or just book the activities (kayaking etc) separately and not do the cruise with this company.
we loved the authentic charm of this cruise. the wooden details and wonderful outside areas were a lovely touch, and the ship being small was an added bonus, as we were looking for a more boutique experience. we also loved the food - accomodation for vegan diet was no problem at all, and the quality of the food was amazing (the quantity as well).
the wifi is unstable; although being on the water, that seems okay.
This was so memorable, it was my birthday and the crew/staff went above and beyond! Such a wonderful experience in every way.
I can't thank them enough..

What's an amazing trip! Halong bay should not be missed when you travel to Vietnam
I booked 2d/1n Bai Tu Long Bay tour at Garden Bay cruise and this is so right decision. Beautiful landscape Halong Bay, friendly staff, delicious meal ( a little bit too much food for us) far above quality compare to restaurants in Halong city with lot of people> kayaking is so exciting to join, and fishing village by bamboo boat.. make this trip unforgetable,
