Location
The food provided by the hotel was cold. Clean towels were NOT provided during our visit. The bathroom needs repairs and a fresh coat of paint. No microwave was included in the room. False advertisement, we booked a lagoon view and was given a pool view.
I love how hospitable the staff are. They deserve 110%. They made my stay a wonderful one. The breakfast was good too.
The washroom to be honest. Shower gel, shower cap and hand towel was not provided and they should work towards changing their towels. Besides this, every other thing is superb.

The room was fine and Netflix on the TV was a welcome bonus. The pool was good, and food was nice and well presented. The staff were OK, Godwin - who is the main worker at the hotel was attentive.
The breakfast was very confusing, even if there are two people on the booking only one gets breakfast and they still have to pay. This was only explained afterwards. To put it simply - breakfast is not included, plus there are also a lot of hidden fees.
Our invoice at the end of our stay was the most confusing financial document I have ever seen. It was also full of mistakes. This took a very long time for them to understand and change.
Finally, they charge a deposit for the room in case anything gets damaged. We left our room in good condition, the same condition we found it it in. We never received the money back. This is stealing.
Overall, while the stay was nice and Godwin is an attentive hotel staff worker, I would not recommend staying here.
I really wish I could rate this higher because the staff who attended to me personally were wonderful. Godwin was excellent. Very polite, fast, very attentive, and made sure I had everything I asked for. The chef’s food was also very impressive, both in taste and presentation. So this review is not about them.
Unfortunately, the issues came from the way Guided Hospitality operates as a company:
• Unexpected charges: Even after I clearly messaged that I was paying cash, I received bank alerts showing attempts to charge my card. After paying cash in full, there was still an additional £50 attempt that I wasn’t informed about. I had to contact the bank so the card can’t be charged and guided hospitality wouldn’t have informed me had I not brought it up. There were also several fees that weren’t disclosed upfront, including a caution fee.
• Lack of communication with security: The security guards will not allow anyone in without a phone call, yet Guided Hospitality does not provide their number at check-in. I arrived from abroad without a Nigerian SIM card, messaged ahead to explain that, and still wasn’t allowed entry at first. On another day an Uber driver came and they refused to let him in or even speak to me on the phone. I had to drag my luggage to the gate myself. This could easily be avoided if proper communication existed.
• Very poor management: During my extended stay, I repeatedly asked for an updated invoice and never received it. When I needed to check out at 4 a.m., the manager suddenly insisted on extra charges and was extremely dismissive when I tried to clarify. His own staff had not informed him of anything, yet he still insisted I pay.
• No housekeeping unless you beg for it: I stayed for two weeks and housekeeping never came once until I started chasing. The bathroom particularly was not maintained properly.
It’s a shame, because the house itself is peaceful, and my neighbours were great. With better management and transparency, this could easily be a 5-star stay. But until the operational issues are fixed, I cannot recommend it.
